I manage the day to day operation of the High Resolution Electron Microscopy Facility (HREMF), handle administrative, bookkeeping duties, responsible in preparing documents for quarterly/annual reports, sample preparation and assist in data retrieval of results for the investigators of MDACC, the Texas Medical Center, and others. I assure safety standards and protocols for the HREMF in compliance, including but not limited to Environmental Health and Safety, Radiation Safety compliance, HIPPA compliance and other procedural/regulatory agencies. Responsible for keeping laboratory up-to-date on protocols, procedures and techniques. I provide oversight/advice in design of investigators' experiments, meet with principle investigators, postdocs and/or students to understand their project requirements to customize service/techniques in achieving their project goals. I generate figures and data for publications, presentations, grants, papers and other scientific needs. I perform meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in lab work as well as accurate record keeping. I am the sole user/operator of the scanning and transmission electron microscopes, maintain and overseeing repair of all laboratory equipment. I maintain operation of the HREMF within budgetary guidelines. I maintain/update the HREMF's website.
