Hi, I’m Kent, I am what I like to call, ‘the non-traditional banker with eclectic interests' Having started my career in the technical and sales functions of the engineering field, I was faced with an early mid-life crisis, deciding where I wanted to spend the rest of my career. After a series of right (or wrong) turns, I decided to get into wealth management. I went back to study a Masters of Applied Finance, then Wealth Management. It was the most fortunate of circumstances and humbling experience to enter private banking as an intern. Having had industry experience prior to getting into private banking I was able to apply real-world perspectives to the finance business at large, enabling me to quickly fast track my career. In a short period of time I was able to work my way up from mid-career entry Product Manager and Investment Counselor through to Relationship Manager. As a Relationship Manager, I have had year-on-year success in achieving significant growth in AUM and revenue from HNW clients across Asia. Currently I am a Team Lead for the Singapore-Malaysia market whereby I am responsible for expanding and developing the growth of my team and market. My journey thus far has thrown me repeatedly out of my comfort zone, pushing me from challenge-to-challenge and fueling my hunger for knowledge and personal growth. I aspire to do things differently. To nurture and coach a high performing team that is capable of tactical problem solving and strategic thinking to becoming successful in their own life and career.
