Bendix has been an industry leader in commercial vehicle air brake charging and control systems for over 80 years.  As a team member of the air compressor division we were responsible for providing compressed air used in the truck breaking system.  This critical step was the first in a long change starting with the truck operating putting his foot on the pedal and ending with the truck coming to a stop.  Switching products to the E-Park team allowed me to develop a 21 century electronic solution which increased effectiveness and driver safety.

Nook Industries designs and manufactures custom linear motion devices for a broad range of industries.  As a design engineer I was in charge of designing custom solutions for medical and aerospace customers as well as designing new products.  I was able to create geometric and mathematical simulations to improve design and reduce costs.  While designing the new miniature product line I created custom laser lead checking software to measure and analyze tolerances within 0.0001 inches.

I’m Kevin Hardin, a Generative AI expert from San Diego California

Here is how I used AI to help a non-profit update job descriptions for all their employees in under 1 hour.

I recently worked with a non-profit in Ohio during their leadership retreat.

One of the first use cases for AI was updating everyone's job descriptions.


Instead of having Human Resources do this task...and then "pass it down from high"


The actual employees worked with AI and provided their own input and insights.

Because they are the ones that actually know best what they do and the value they bring.


I created this custom GPT which helps create and update job descriptions.  

Each employee started with their original job dscription.

And then provided feedback and made changes based on the actual work they do.



𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝟯 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗸:

1. Accurate job description is a HR101 best practice
   
2. Employees feel more confident when they have clarity about what is expected of them
   
3. We use these job descriptions to help them figure out how AI can help them

𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝘀𝗮𝗶𝗱 "𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺" 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 "𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺"



This whole process took about an hour (including the training to use the GPT)

And here are some of the insights that came to light

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 

1. Everyone had responsibilities that were not listed in their job description
   
2. Several people thought it was their job to do the same thing.
   
3. AI gave each employee 3 suggestions on how to use AI in their job (instructions coming soon)

It's now possible to erase misspelled words when using DALLE-3.  Here's exactly how to do it.

I am sure that this will be a temporary problem that will eventually be fixed

But for now it can be really annoying and slow down progress.

Well...

It's not a problem anymore

Since the new "Inpainting feature" was released

Now you can remove words from AI art.  

Here's the step-by-step


[Step #1] Create your Image

☑ Go to ChatGPT → GPT-4
☑ Say "Make an image of..."
☑ Describe what you want to see

[Step #2] Edit your image

☑ Click “select” in the top right
☑ Draw on area to be edited
☑ Type "Remove all words"

[Step #3}  Add the words you do want

☑ Download the picture
☑ Upload into Canva
☑ Add and edit text

Today I turn 40!  Here are the 3 priorities for the next season of my life:

The last few months have been pretty tough and forced me to really reflect and reevaluate my life.

And ask the question "What do I really want"?

Well...here's what I've come up with...


1. Help solve the climate crisis and promote social equity
   
2. Work with and support folks that are passionate about #1 
   
3. Run a successful business that let's me do #1 & #2 


Right now, I see AI as the best avenue for achieving these goals.

My strategy is simple...

Help people who are already doing amazing work to leverage AI to increase their positive impact.


The adventure continues...
