We are pure direct-response advertisers, and our primary goal is always making an impact on your bottom line.

I’ve had marketers early in their careers ask me for advice a few times. So I figured it might be useful to post my career journey, esp. if I include salaries.

1. I started with reading every book I could on marketing. Then I did some free work for local SMBs (built a website and set-up SEO, etc)
2. Unpaid internship w/business networking group part time while at Baruch college.
3. Marketing for start-up sustainable jeans brand at $10/h part time while at Baruch college. 
4. Marketing for a jewelry wholesale + tech company at $14/h part time while at Baruch college. 
5. Marketing for a clothing brand. This was my first full time job at $60k a year. I dropped out of Baruch around then to work full time.
6. Lucky break, recruited by OnDeck Capital to scale their B2B digital ads at ~$70k a year salary. I knew this would be a huge learning experience. Grew ads there from $20k/m → $300k/m over 3 years.  
7. Later, I was laid-off from OnDeck. I started consulting with a focus on B2B ads for 3 years. Consulting was amazing for me, the most fun I’d had to that point.
8. I launched Right Percent using what I learned from OnDeck + working with many consulting clients, and grew it over the last 4-5 years to where it is now.
