I am a Growth Marketing Strategist (used to say Growth Hacker, but jargon changes quickly in Marketing), Marketing Technologist, and Consultant. I started my career in SaaS, and it was there that my fascination with Search and Content blossomed into an obsession. With a Marketing and Journalism background, Paid and Organic Search offered me a way to showcase my writing skills, reach new audiences, influence them - and the analytics - which were still immature, but exciting - allowed me to see what was working and what wasn't. It was the perfect blend of science, creativity, data, testing and optimization. It led me from Coordinator to managing our new Content Marketing team. I decided to pivot to startups with my next role. As fascinated with Search and Content as I was - I didn't want to be a channel marketing specialist. I wanted to influence the growth of our business in ways that weren't limited to the optimization of one channel. I got hired in a startup incubator and was introduced to CMS and Marketing Automation with HubSpot. I was instantly hooked on Marketing Automation. And a connected CMS? Whoa! The idea that I could strategize and then automate orchrestration was energizing. I loved wearing a million different hats, that every day could be different, and to focus all my efforts on growing the business and our presence in the market. On Fridays in our incubator, we would spend time with other companies, sharing what we had worked on for the week and sharing our learnings. I taught 10+ other companies about the power of a connected suite that included CMS and MAP and being able to deliver so much with just my own set of hands. Which led me to consulting. I got into consulting out of the passion I had for capability realization. I enjoy working with teams and Product Owners to develop comprehensive MarTech roadmaps that align with top-line business objectives, and also enables more personalization and orchestration tools at the fingertips of the Marketing professionals I work with.
