As many know, I like every LinkedIn post with an #AIgovernance opportunity and then batch them together when I find time.

It's a system that works reasonably well, but I'd like to do more.

That's why I'm launching this newsletter: 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗜 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲.

For now, it will give me the ability to share more jobs with better context (without the character constraints of a post).

Over time, it will enable me to track patterns, experiment with new ideas, and continuously improve.

My goal remains the same though: 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥 𝙖𝙨 𝙢𝙖𝙣𝙮 𝙥𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙣 𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙮 𝙥𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙚𝙡𝙙 𝙖𝙨 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚.
  
Each edition will highlight a few top opportunities before diving into these domains: private sector; public sector; NGOs, non-profits, and think tanks; academia; early career (fellowships and internships); and open calls.

I found almost 90 new roles in the past 10 days and over 140 in the two weeks before that.

I've never seen this much activity since I started this habit two years ago.

I share that because it seems like the ideal time for more people to take a chance on themselves and contribute to one of the defining challenges – and opportunities – of our time.

Sometimes it’s important to look back to prepare for what’s ahead.
 
With that in mind, I updated my running list of #AIgovernance webinars for all of 2025.
 
Here are some highlights:
 
✅ There are 𝟭𝟵𝟮 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 in total, the vast majority of which are free.
 
✅ I decided to retain three webinars from 2024 because they’re simply too good: two from the EU AI Office explaining the architecture of the AI Act, and one from the IAPP on what it actually means to be an AI governance professional.
 
✅ I added more “main topic” possibilities to reflect how the field is evolving, including with increasing attention on agents and literacy.
 
✅ There’s overlap among the main topics. For example, Human-AI Collaboration and Future of Work frequently intersect, reflecting the close connection between how people use AI and its effects on the workforce.
 
✅ There’s a strong focus on enterprise AI, with 46 webinars canvassing topics like briefing boards, understanding general counsel priorities, selecting use cases, measuring ROI, and operationalizing governance at scale.
 
✅ For anyone building an AI literacy or training program, some of these webinars could be packaged together in learning paths tailored to privacy, security, risk, IP, etc.
 
✅ You don’t need a formal plan like that, however, if you’re new to the field. My best advice is to start with the webinar that jumps out the most (for whatever reason). Then choose another one and keep repeating the process, letting your curiosity guide you while you build the habit of continuous learning.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟳.4𝗞 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸.
 
I wasn't expecting that type of response, but it makes me appreciate how important this effort is.

And the timing was serendipitous, as January is typically one of the busiest hiring periods of the year, with new budgets take effect and planning shifts to execution.
 
I felt that, seeing 70 new #AIgovernance opportunities hit my feed this week.
 
Here are some takeaways and observations:
 
✅ I added more Private Sector subcategories, including for 𝗔𝗜 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and 𝗔𝗜 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹.  While I know those are only adjacent to AI governance, I’d rather be over-inclusive.
 
✅ There was a 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗺𝗽 𝗶𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 (11 total), perhaps because this is the season for that.
 
✅ One of the more interesting roles is Anthropic’s search for a Cross-functional Prompt Engineer who will be “the expert on Claude's behavioral quirks and capabilities, owning and authoring critical system prompts for new models and products….”
 
✅ Several posts made an important point that’s often implied: job descriptions are typically aspirational, and it’s rare for any candidate to meet every criteria.

My recommendation is to not let perceived gaps hold you back.  Focus instead on where your experience meaningfully aligns, how your skills transfer, and why your interest is genuine.

That's the exact type of judgment, resilience, and conviction you need to be successful in the field.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘀 🔥.

I know the main reason is that new budgets became available.

However, I think an unappreciated reason may be the shift from pilots to production.

If last year was devoted to experimenting with use cases, this year will be about deploying them in real-world setting.

That means more #AIgovernance professionals will be needed.

Two other notes this week:

✅ This was a big bump in privacy roles, so much in fact that I decided to split the section into two parts (one for legal, one for non-legal listings).

✅ I added a section for Applied AI to capture how AI is being used for scientific advancement.  Seems like another worthy adjacent field to highlight.
