Project executive role requires to acquire and analyze the data on project performance to produce insights concerning the state of the external (Peoples Bank of Sri Lanka, Commercial Bank International, Dubai and Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, Brunei) and internal projects in every phase (SIT/UAT/LIVE). Subsequently, I need to communicate with upper management to discuss and develop strategic plan to overcome any shortcomings or challenges facing each project. On the other hand, as a quality analyst, my main task is to examine the quality of the in-house developed core-banking software (Möbius). It requires me to work with the technical team resolve any problems that have been identified and to make any recommendations aimed at improving user experience.

10 months upon my employment, due to a decent performance, I was promoted to be an I.M while also retaining my previous role. As I.M, the role required me to coordinate the team/subcons, supervise and control the whole process of the project until it is completed. The role also required me to do reporting to the project manager and to Maxis as our client. The report includes data on project datelines, sub-contractor’s performance and team achievements. Colleagues and sub-contractors must report to me on the progress of the project in a daily manner.

Maxis as client, my role is to acquire and to secure locations for them to install their antennas and tele-structures around Peninsular Malaysia for better and faster coverage. This position teaches me to be smart in communicating with people and learn appropriate ways to handle different behavior of people. Upon securing the site, I need to liaise with multiple parties such as Local Council, several government agencies and consultants.

FSTEP coached me to be financially eloquent and needed to attend training on soft skills (leadership), accounting and finance (statistics, investments, business and banking products), computer skills (excel, power point, etc.) and many more before undergone my industrial training with Public Bank. In Public Bank, I was located in PB Card Services and Support department. My role was to extract clients’ data to gain information on their performance and late payments for the merchant service provided to them.
