Short answer: It’s not just about the UAE trade license.

Yes, you can register a company in Dubai from anywhere, even while living in the UK.

But here’s the catch: UK tax authorities don’t care where your company is registered… they care where it’s actually run.

If you live in the UK and make all the big decisions there, HMRC will likely treat your Dubai company as UK tax resident. That means UK corporation tax still applies, even if your business is incorporated in the UAE.

To genuinely keep your company outside the UK tax net, you need to ensure real management happens in the UAE:
✔️ Appoint a UAE based director or general manager with real authority
✔️ Hold board meetings and make strategic decisions in the UAE
✔️ Meet UAE Economic Substance Requirements
✔️ Maintain a real physical presence in the UAE

✅ Do all this, and your company can be recognized as a UAE tax resident, and not subject to UK corporation tax.
