As a Patient Access Representative, I was the first line of contact between patients and our healthcare staff. While handling the check-in/check-out and supplies sales at the front desk, I ensured to provide excellent customer service and respond to patient with a caring attitude. 

Tasks that I was responsible for at the front desk include:

When I started at Lush as a seasonal hire, I thought my sole focus just be selling bath bombs and soap, but it became much more than that. I was able to observe effective leadership, work in line with my values of ethical consumption and meaningful relationships, and best of all: to have fun at work. 

Each shift, I practiced actively listening to our customers’ needs while striving to establish authentic positive connections with the hope to “make their day”. I was able to enrich my understanding of global issues through their many ethical campaigns that covered a spectrum of issues such as human rights, animal protection and environmental preservation, while relaying this information to customers. 

I learned about successful teamwork and its importance on improving productivity, such as receiving and providing frequent peer feedback. My organizational and tidiness skills were frequently utilized by maintaining visual standards in order to keep a visually appealing shop and make products accessible to customers.

Cultural Survival

Cultural Survival hosts a series of art bazaars that provide a platform for Indigenous artists and cooperatives to sell their work. The bazaars are a vital part of the organization’s fundraising efforts and they help directly aid Indigenous people from many corners of the world. 

Through my work at CS, I helped increase the organization’s social media presence and engagement through consistent captivating posts and original content. In addition to this, I created various marketing content with the goal of promoting attendance for the Bazaars. I helped with Bazaar volunteer recruitment through coordinating a variety of outreach efforts.  I aided in developing new systems for connecting Bazaar artists with affordable short term housing for their Homestay Program— a program in which individuals volunteer to host visiting artists in their homes and free spaces. 

Thanks to being involved with CS, I was consistently informed to current events relating to Indigenous rights and issues.

Bazaar Program Intern

Girls'​ LEAP

Girls’ Leap was one of the most memorable experiences I’ve had. My position required me to coach young girls and teens in self-defense. Each Teen Mentor goes through self-defense training before beginning their time at GL. During the self-defense workshops, not only did we provided tools for girls to keep themselves safe, but to raise their self-esteem. We educated girls on consent and how to deal with conflict, violence-deescalation, and setting boundaries. The mast majority of our students would feel empowered and proud of themselves when leaving a workshop. This position payed a major role in inspiring me to pursue working with disempowered and marginalized groups.

Teen Mentor

As a Virtual Assistant, I can shine a light on those tasks that are integral to keeping things running smoothly such as general admin & customer support. I pride myself in being responsible, adaptable, and a strong communicator. My goal is to support my clients in their businesses so that they can feel more at ease and focus on manifesting their entrepreneurial aspirations.
