To most who know me, I’m a TV marketing exec and TEDx speaker turned Shark Tank-winning, self-taught carpenter & furniture designer who built an internationally-known kids’ furniture company out of my LA garage called Mod Mom Furniture. Behind the scenes; however, I privately struggled to survive and heal from childhood sexual abuse and narcissistic abuse all while grappling with newfound intuitive abilities that led me to pen my debut memoir, LITTLE VOICES (Post Hill Press/Simon and Schuster/Sept 2022). Shortly after inking a traditional publishing deal, I co-founded a nonprofit with retired NYPD Detective Mark Pucci. Our organization helps crime victims and their families (NILJ.org). In 2018, I joined Moonshot, a 20+ year old Arizona-based nonprofit that helps moonshot-thinking subject matter experts bring products and services to market and helps cities in rural Arizona develop entrepreneurial ecosystems that create jobs. In addition to my role as Chief Marketing Officer, I mentor entrepreneurs across the state of Arizona and speak professionally about building a company from my garage. ------------------------- ABOUT MOD MOM FURNITURE After corporate world jobs in IT, healthcare, and television, Kiersten taught herself woodworking and furniture design. In 2007, she founded Mod Mom Furniture from her 400 square foot garage in LA where she built over 300 toy boxes by hand. In 2011, she won a deal on ABC’s SHARK TANK and in 2020, she was asked to design kids' furniture for the first-ever Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation kids' furniture line. Mod Mom is known internationally. having been sold throughout the US, Canada, Australia, and Hong Kong.
