The investors of BlueHealth Innovation Fund are UCB, Antwerp University Hospital (UZA), Cronos/The Cofoundry and BC10 (a subsidiary of In4care).

I lead the implementation of the Cerner PowerTrials(R) module in the new electronic medical record (EMR) at UZA.

As the IT project lead for 'Scientific Applications',
1. I support clinical research (mostly investigator-driven clinical trials)
- technical & functional support for OpenClinica (open-source eCRF software)
- technical & functional support for qminim minimization software

2. I am involved in (clinical research-related) software tendering for UZA. I do business analysis, organize vendor demos, write tenders, evaluate offers etc.

3. I supervise fundamental and applied scientific research

IT Project Lead

Responsible for daily operations at biomina-UZA. Biomina is an R&D group in biomedical informatics that is a joint initiative of University of Antwerp (UAntwerpen) and University Hospital Antwerp (UZA).

As the Text Mining project lead of biomina (a biomedical informatics R&D center) at the Antwerp University Hospital, I provided clinical intelligence and data analysis for the hospital as well as for pharmaceutical companies. I also took the lead in a project on computer-assisted patient recruitment.

While my main activities are at UZA, I remain affiliated to the CLiPS research center as an associate researcher. We set up project proposals and I teach in the MA Linguistics.
