After a vibrant career in fashion, I have spent over a decade in the tech industry and the non-profit sector. My journey spans from helping lead a top fintech machine learning SaaS company to acquisition, to building a global nonprofit community through World NGO Day—the only decentralized international day celebrating over 10 million nonprofits and 50 million employees, volunteers, and philanthropists who form the backbone of our global community. Now on a mission to revolutionize charitable giving, I work at the intersection of technology and philanthropy. Did you know U.S. charitable giving totaled $557.16 billion in 2023, yet nonprofits focused on advancing women’s and girls’ causes received just 1.81% of total philanthropic funding? U.S. LGBTQI+ nonprofits collectively raised only 1%, and in the U.S., Canada, and Australia, less than 1% of total charitable giving goes to Native and Indigenous communities. That’s just crazy! Worldwide many philanthropic organizations have historically lacked diversity in leadership and grantmaking, leading to underfunding for organizations led by and for marginalized communities. This disconnect risks continuing without changes in grantmaking and fundraising practices, detrimental to civil society worldwide. Founding the DePhi (Decentralized Philanthropy) Impact Fund reflects my vision of rethinking philanthropy. I envision a future where philanthropy is intelligent, intuitive, innovative, immersive, inclusive, individualized, and impactful. This is i-PHILANTHROPY—revolutionizing online giving by harnessing community building and cutting-edge tech from Crypto, Web3, Gaming, 3D Internet, AI, DeepTech, and Quantum Technologies, and more, to galvanize the practice of online philanthropy and present new, imaginative alternatives for impact beyond traditional forms of giving. I aim to inspire a new wave of young i-Donors and support nonprofits addressing society’s most pressing needs. At this pivotal time, I believe technology is a catalyst for social good.
