I am founder and Director of Trademark Tonic Limited, which launched in May 2020 to help founders, entrepreneurs and creatives to realise the potential of their trade marks and designs, with focus on protection, strategy, commercialisation and enforcement. I work with a range of businesses and individuals, including start-ups, SMEs, founders, creatives and spin-outs, who are as excited and passionate about their brands and designs as I am about helping to protect and optimise these valuable business assets. I am particularly keen to collaborate with businesses and brands creating a positive impact in the world, through innovative thinking and solutions. This could relate to sustainability solutions, greentech, ideas to inspire communities, supporting people to achieve their potential, finding solutions to nurture, improve and conserve wildlife and nature. Prior to launching Trademark Tonic, I held the position of Global Trade Mark Counsel in a fast moving consumer goods FTSE 100 company, and spent several of years managing multiple global trade mark and design portfolios. Before this I worked in private practice. Upon qualifying as a UK Chartered Trade Mark Attorney in 2012, I received the Adrian Spencer Memorial Award for attaining the highest mark in the Advanced UK Trade Mark Law and Practice paper. Managing multiple global in-house portfolios, has provided an invaluable first-hand insight and experience, into the potential scenarios, which can be faced in relation to a businesses’ trade marks and designs. I also have extensive experience dealing with brand portfolios in various industries such as: science and technology, pharmaceutical, education, fashion, the arts, retail, food and drink, telecommunications and finance. This wide variety of experience in diverse fields and working with varied clients (start-ups to multi-nationals), has fine-tuned my trade mark expertise. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA) and regulated by the Intellectual Property Regulation Board (IPReg).
