>Detailed responsibilities : sorting and valuation of rough diamonds; checking stones after marking to ensure the best size, purity and positioning of imperfections in the rough; overseeing the stones throughout the polishing process, to ensure that imperfections in the stones are handled correctly and that target weights are achieved, so as to extract the best value from the rough; ensuring that the proportions and finish of the polished diamonds through out the production process are to the highest quality standards to achieve GIA triple Ex; optimisation of work flow; monitoring weight loss and production efficiency per process; stock and inventory control; grading of all the polished diamonds and selecting the appropriate diamond grading laboratory to send them to, as laboratories work to different standards.
