There is an exciting spot in business: when a brand new product meets the market. The moment of truth there. Sometimes the efforts pay off and the innovation flies. Most often though - not really. In either case, people love to understand the whys. I have spent already 20 years* to experience and learn what are the drivers of successful products. How to find the right strategies for new innovations. How to make money. How to lead and build organisations supporting great products. Oh, yes, and how to live with the failures. As a really curious person, I have been lucky to: - fill higher management roles at Microsoft, Tesco Mobile or Vodafone, exactly at their strategic inflection points; - be in the team of great high growth startups (eg. early internet media Netforum ~1999, or mobile marketing Velti ~2009); - support a few startups either as an advisor/mentor with equity or just for the fun of it; - and all that in a highly international manner - lived in 4 countries, made business and friends in... well, no idea. A few years ago we joined forces in the AbilityMatrix consultancy to attract likeminded people interested to learn more about the moment of truth and share all the knowledge: - with startups to reach product-market-fit and early growth faster; - with software developers to find and prioritize their hidden or stuck products; - with larger companies to improve again their innovations with their target audience.
