My leadership journey began in high school. I was a section leader for the marching band and loved every minute of it. One of the students in my section was an incredibly bright young man that didn't live up to his potential. I was hard on him (WAY too hard), but at the end of the season, he thanked me; thanked me for getting him to live up to the expectations I had for him and the standards he needed to meet. He graduated with honors, more scholarships than I could have ever dreamed to see myself, and is thriving in the professional world. 

Now, I've learned a lot more about what makes a good leader, but I still hold that desire to help others live up to their potential in my heart. With time comes patience, practice, and positivity.
