I’m content-turned-product marketer working at Zuora (and having a bomb learning loads of stuff while at it). Prior to this, I worked as a freelance writer and content strategist for B2B SaaS brands like ConvertKit, Zapier, Hotjar, and Shopify; created content on LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram—totalling an audience of 135,000; spoke at industry-leading events and was awarded a financial grant as part of the LinkedIn Creator Accelerator Program.

While my experience has largely been in content marketing, leaning on writing and storytelling heavily (thanks to the literature grad in me), I've always kept a close eye on what the product team is doing, taking ownership in launches, messaging, GTM strategies and competitive intelligence while combining my skills in content, comms, narrative creation, marketing and personal branding - which is what brought me to product marketing, a pivot I never expected.

I've also collaborated on creator campaigns with brands like CRED, Byju’s, Maybelline Paris, Color’s Infinity and ClickUp, was one of the earliest members of LinkedIn Creator Management Program in India and was featured under Pepper's 30 women in content marketing.

I just came back to London after spending 2 weeks in India, and I can't help but dwell on the dichotomy of being an immigrant.

There’s this strange in-between space you learn to live in.
In London, my days move fast with work, cooking, cleaning, set routines, and most evenings spent catching up with family back home and staying connected to everything happening there while trying to be fully present in the life I’m building here. 

It’s not “out of sight, out of mind” at all but there’s still a layer of distance until I physically land in India again.

And when I do, it hits all at once - the noise, the people, the questions, the care.
Food already made, the room already set up, someone anticipating what I need before I even ask. You slip right back into a version of your life that feels like it never paused.

Then you return to London and, for a moment, it feels like you’ve been gone much longer than two weeks. You question things you were certain about. You feel new in a city you’ve lived in for years. You slowly re-settle, rebuild your rhythm, and pick everything back up again.

That’s the part of the immigrant experience people don’t always talk about - how you can be fully rooted in two places and still feel slightly unanchored in both.

You’re watching your parents grow older through phone calls. You’re celebrating your friends’ milestones from afar. You’re missing things without really missing them, because the moment you go back, it feels like no time has passed at all.

And at the same time, you know the opportunities, growth, and version of yourself that exists because you’re here - the work you’re doing, the life you’re building, the independence you’ve earned are shaping the trajectory of your mid-20s in ways that staying home never could.

It’s a constant pull between two worlds - where your heart lives and where your future is being built.
And I think every immigrant finds their own way of holding both.

After almost two years, countless decks and a lot of growth, I said goodbye to Zuora  last week.

It still feels surreal to wrap up a chapter that shaped me this much. I’ve joked about ageing a few years during my time there (in the nicest way possible), but it honestly taught me more than any linear career plan ever could.

From SKO in California to coffee walks in Paris, Thursday lunches that felt like a weekly feast, last-minute deck edits, and so much warmth from people - it was a whirlwind in the best way.

While I learnt a lot by executing, I learnt even more by observing. Being in the right rooms, listening to sharp people think out loud, and watching how leaders act when there’s a clock ticking or something seems messy - those moments shaped me as much as any project did. 

I’m grateful for the people who challenged me, trusted me, and occasionally threw me into the deep end because they knew I’d figure it out.

Leaving is always the hardest part, because work isn’t just work. The good thing is relationships last a lot longer than roles, and I’m lucky to walk away with friends across time zones.

As for what’s next, I’m really excited and can’t wait to share more soon.

For now: I’m going to be busy with middle-of-the-day gym sessions, dance classes, whatever fiction romance trope pulls me in next, and a bit of travel before the next chapter begins.

I’ve been following the team and the product for a while, and what stood out long before I applied was how honest, grounded and genuinely passionate they are about the problem they’re solving - especially because they’ve felt that pain themselves.

Speaking to the founders, seeing the product up close and hearing customers rave about it at SEV0 only reinforced that. There’s a clarity in how incident builds, decides and communicates that’s rare to find and even rarer to join.

I’m really excited to help shape how we tell that story - and doing that with a solid product and such a sharp, thoughtful team feels like the best possible place to do it.

Hot take: a lot of the motions we still rely on in B2B make the buying process harder than it needs to be.

Gated whitepapers, old-school press releases, long nurture tracks - all of these assume buyers move through a linear journey that doesn’t really exist anymore. 

People now look for answers through AI search flows, quick chat prompts, Reddit threads and the communities they already trust. By the time they reach you, they expect more clarity and less effort.

That’s why asking for information before offering anything useful feels so out of place now. It slows people down at the exact moment they’re trying to move faster. 

Most buyers won’t do it and honestly, they shouldn’t have to.

And with feature sets looking more and more similar, the difference someone actually feels is how clearly the story helps them understand your relevance. Not a capabilities list. Not a gated report. Just immediate, useful context.

What I’m seeing work better is much more straightforward:

> It’s being where the questions actually surface. 
> It’s giving people something that helps them understand the problem before you ask for anything in return. 
> And it’s explaining the product in a way that doesn’t require a long ramp-up or a sequence to make the point land.

Credibility markers like analyst reports still matter because they’re signals of trust but they can’t be the whole strategy anymore. 

Buyers have already changed how they evaluate. The marketing needs to reflect that shift.

Thoughts?

“Go in with a perspective or someone else is going to have one for you.”

A marketing leader said this in passing recently and it stuck with me because it describes something that happens quietly in most work settings.

Whenever a discussion starts, the direction usually forms around the first few points people put on the table. 

It doesn’t matter if those points are perfect - they simply become the reference everyone builds on. And the person who brings that early perspective isn’t always the most experienced or the most senior. They’re just the one who offered a starting place.

That’s why walking into a room with some form of a point of view matters.
Not a polished take or a fully built framework, but your current understanding - how you’re thinking about the problem, what you believe is important, and what assumptions you think might be influencing the situation.

I’ve realised that when I wait to speak until I have “enough” information, I usually end up fitting into a direction that’s already been shaped by someone else. Not because they were right, but just because they went first.

Having a perspective isn’t about being certain. It’s about showing that you’ve taken the time to think before walking in. That you’re willing to contribute early, even if your thinking evolves as the conversation unfolds.

And I’m realising that most people aren’t expecting a perfect answer. They just want a place to start thinking from. Sometimes that’s all a perspective is - a starting point that makes the rest of the work clearer for everyone in the room.

Have you ever been in a situation like this?

Harsh truth: people don’t buy the same way they used to, but a lot of our marketing still assumes they do.

Buyers aren’t starting with a Google search and a gated PDF anymore. 

They’ll ask ChatGPT for recommendations, speak a quick prompt into Wispr Flow, search with Comet/Atlas for a breakdown, skim a Reddit thread, and come in with a clearer sense of what they want. 

By the time they reach your content, they’ve already done half the work on their own.

That’s why the old approach of asking for someone’s details before giving them anything useful feels out of place now.

What I’m seeing work better is the straightforward stuff: being present where the questions happen, sharing context without expecting anything in return, and explaining the product in a way that makes sense immediately. 

Those small shifts make it easier for someone to understand you without feeling like you’re asking for too much upfront.

I’m realising the better question isn’t “what’s the new playbook,” but “are we making it easier for someone to understand us?” 

Most teams aren’t. And that’s really what needs to shift.

Unpopular opinion: the real differentiator for AI products isn’t capability.
It’s context (and marketers are not putting up enough of a fight about it).

We’ve reached a point where almost every product has some version of AI in it. The features sound different, but the outcomes sound pretty much the same - automate, personalise, predict (iykyk).

That’s because capability is catching up across the board.
But what’s harder to replicate is the context that powers those capabilities - the depth of data, the quality of signals, and the precision with which they’re interpreted.

That’s what decides whether a product feels genuinely intelligent or just automated. 

The more context a system understands, about the user, their behaviour, their environment and their intent, the less work the user has to do to reach a decision.

And that’s exactly where marketing needs to evolve too.
If every product can now claim intelligence, the story isn’t about the algorithm but about the understanding of what the product already knows, how it sees the world, its context coverage and how it helps someone move faster without thinking harder.

This way, if we're inching towards a place where intelligence naturally becomes the default, context will be the true differentiator.
