A recent coaching client felt her career ambitions were being stifled, because although she knew she wanted to have her own successful business, she had to continue to work as an employee because, you know, money!
 
She'd put her business plans on the back burner, as she saw no way out of her situation. She saw her job as a barrier to her success.
 
After some questions and discussion, we found out that much of her current work involved learning new skills, gaining experience, and networking with influential people in her industry.
 
All these things actually HELP her to move towards what she really wants.
 
That was when a switch was turned on, and she saw the way forward.
 
Then it was just a matter of creating a plan that involved a business goal and a set of strategies she could practically apply while still working full-time.
 
Her obstacle had gone from being something that DISRUPTED her plan, to PART of her plan. 

That's a real mindset shift.

In a coaching session with a client yesterday my client gave me a perfect example of how coaching can positively affect not only the individual but those around them too.
