Co-led the transition and integration of the separate departments of technical services, assessment, teaching & learning, and curriculum into one centralized department of Learning & Innovation.

* Provide district leadership as a core member on the MTSS team to role out training for the first-year implementation of MTSS with a focus on effective Tier 1 behavior management. Developed plans for the upcoming roll-out of district-wide professional learning around Tier 1 instruction using the practices of Universal Design to guide instructional strategies.

* Contributed to the core district planning team for new STEAM magnet elementary school to open in the fall of 2020. Assisted in the development of core principals and beliefs around student-centered learning throughout this new school community.

* As a member of the cabinet team, we developed the Peninsula Promise, our guiding beliefs around what we believe from all students, staff, and community. The Peninsula Promise is our belief of what we think our graduates should be when they leave the Peninsula School District and the idea that the Peninsula School District is Learner-Centered and Future Focused.

* Led the emergency roll-out of over 3000 devices and connectivity to students and staff throughout our community during the COVID-19 closure to facilitate continuous learning opportunities for students from a distance.

Increased leadership responsibilities to include the oversight of the Communications department and provide strategic guidance to communications staff.

* Developed district communication plans to improve community perceptions of the district in concert with levy and bond campaigns—coordinated communication efforts between in-district staff, contractors, and district advocacy team.

* Led organizational evaluation and coaching around technology integration in concert with Digital Promise. This evaluation included building by building interviews, assessments, and reviews on the state of technology adoption and provided concrete action plans to increase the effective use of technology.

Promoted to this role guiding both the operational technology team as well as the instructional technology team with a focus on improving classroom practices integrating technology into instruction.

* Developed and executed a 1:1 program branded as PSD Possibilities to provide and distribute devices for all students grades 5-12. Reallocated budget and created efficiencies to be able to afford initiative without separate levy funding.

* Revamped and increased the instructional technology team to provide direct job-embedded professional development for teaching staff around technology integration topics that were actionable when teachers wanted them, which increases the effectiveness and likelihood that instructional practices will evolve.

Recruited to overhaul overly restrictive and aging computing infrastructure to provide future-focused technology solutions that allow instructional staff to do their best work and provide enhanced learning experiences to students.

* Overhauled end-user computing experience built around the trust of staff and students.

* Modernized technological infrastructure during severely constrained budgetary limitations.

* Design, procure and install wireless infrastructure to cover all classroom spaces.

* Rebuild the technical team with a focus on growth and professional development.

Skilled in technology architecture and adept at envisioning solutions to problems that require innovative thinking, leveraging a mix of best practices and cutting-edge possibilities. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Digital Learning, Kris co-led the transition of several departments into a centralized department of Learning & Innovation and played a key role in implementing MTSS and Universal Design for Learning instructional initiatives. Kris also now leads the departments of communications and school safety/security.
