Growing up, I knew I wanted to make a positive impact in people's lives, but I wasn't sure how. It wasn't until I personally struggled with Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that I realized the power of therapy. I wanted to learn more about why we do the things we do, so my intellectual curiosity led me to pursue a career in Psychology. After obtaining my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, I became a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and founded Cathartic Space Counseling, my private practice located in Chicago, IL. I offer psychotherapy and counseling to individual adults, and I specialize in anxiety, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, complex trauma, and adult children of emotionally immature parents. I'm licensed to see therapy clients in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Florida. I also provide virtual coaching services worldwide to anxious, high-achieving professionals. My clients often feel like life is too hard, but they're unsure why. Their lives feel like a list of obligations with very little joy. They've succeeded professionally, and now it's on to pursuing the next goal, but they never feel satisfied with their accomplishments. The impression management is exhausting, and they've lost their sense of identity along the way. They often feel misunderstood, which prevents them from being vulnerable with others, therefore impacting their relationships as well. They yearn to have a better understanding of what's beneath this over-functioning and how they can modify their current patterns. In addition, I have spent the last 6 years as a Psychology professor at National Louis University, and I pride myself on educating and mentoring the next generation of mental health clinicians During my own undergraduate coursework, my favorite class was Abnormal Psychology, and now it's come full circle because that's my favorite course to teach. I utilize my background in education and teaching to provide professional trainings for corporations and continuing education units. I'm always open to public speaking or training opportunities, so feel free to reach out!
