As an Instructional Designer and aspiring L&D Architect, I advocate for all things of the learner (neurotypical and neurodivergent); always pushing for clarity of communications and interactive learning opportunities to enhance skill and knowledge. I structure, create, develop, and teach engaging curriculum (preferably through Microlearning) that helps adult learners build from their past experiences (Constructivism Theory, Cognitivism Theory), relate to their immediate present work (WIIFM, Adult Learning Theory, Connectivism Theory), and authentically assess their efforts so they align with meeting future goals. My academic background of a bachelor's in English: Creative Writing from Southern Methodist University, Technical Writing certification from the University of Texas at Arlington, master's in Communication Management from the University of Southern California, and Instructional Design and Technology micromasters certification from the University System of Maryland is the foundation in which my Learning and Development career as an Instructional Designer has been built upon. And yes, I’m a Texas gal that went against the migration and replanted in SoCal. I'm an ever-growing student of all things regarding the English language, communications, and teaching/learning. I have taken on the challenge of serving the aviation/aerospace, technology, and financial industries—and presently taking on the challenge of serving the healthcare industry—all by refining their on-demand elearning, external and internal instructor led training and systems training content, and technical documentation. Additionally, I have a small business, Letters and Marques, to which I transcribe audio (English and Spanish), translate documents (English/Spanish), record voice overs, edit and write copy/content, create elearning, and tutor (English).
