My role as a project director allows us to service clients and be hands-on in the integration process.

There is a 30m Square foot vacancy problem in London alone. We won't solve that one physical viewing at a time. 

We digitise assets to accelerate marketing, leasing, sales and procurement. 

The inflexion points hitting commercial real estate are 4-fold:

1. The sudden, singular proliferation and sustaining of remote working. With that the office is no longer a given but a debatable 'nice-to-have'. 
2. Environmental regulations will soon make assets un-insurable, un-fundable and un-lettable if we don't change our approach.
3. The new interest regime is hammering the current gearing of properties. Combine that with the reduced NOI as outlined in point 1 and its disaster.
4. Inflation has seen the cost of construction soar and with that a serious consideration is needed before gambling CapEx on speculative fitouts. 

Reimagine, Rethink, ReKreate the office.

We are witnessing a fundamental shift in retailing, born by pressures of technology, commerce and an increasingly discerning customer demand. Those that have been able to tap into and lead the new developments in customer experience are themselves experiencing growth and success while so many that have failed to move forward with the market are failing. In this course we will ask those critical questions; not only of how we set up our stores and arrange them, but how we do so around a narrative, creating the customer journey. It's not enough anymore in retail to have slick displays and loud signage. There needs to be a cohesive message, an engagement with the brand or product that produces natural consumer loyalty. Stores can't be stand-alone, nor can they be simply nets to catch passers-by. While the internet being available on mobile phones has brought transparancy, increasing the phenomenon of "showrooming", stores need to give something extra to consumers that they can't get online. What is that exactly? Not any one thing, but those distinctions of technology, lighting, display, narrative, service, branding, experience and journey will be explored in the context of London and the UK as we have front-row seats to the collapse of the old mode of retailing and the birth of the new. Students are to form critical views on the failures and successes of the retailing world through the periodicals we are reading and that are ever-changing. Students will have a firm grasp on the old retailing mode and the new, as well as developing their critical thinking skills, giving them a crucial ability to keep momentum for themselves, and the brands they will represent, in a rapidly changing world.
