Whilst keeping three associates alive, fed and reasonably happy, I also somehow managed to translate a 300-page book; interpret for the Scottish Police, NHS and educational institutions on request; pass exams and competition to enter European Civil Service; project manage full renovations of two flats; and learned to upholster and restore antique furniture to a professional standard.

The Invisible Contract you never signed

It’s empathy as a form of perception: the ability to sense what’s unsaid, to register the emotional weather around you with exquisite precision.

Empathy is a sense, not an assignment.
