I am over-excited to be part of the Center for Women Entrepreneurs! There could not be a more rewarding career then helping Texas Women establish themselves as Business Owners! My career gave me this experience and UT gave me the Institutional training to be part of TWU's CWE at the JNIWL. I smile just thinking about this role. What started as consulting for a successful hotel company during a multi-million dollar buy-out, rapidly grew into a sales and event management company. Clients include Omni Hotels, Crowne Plaza, numerous SMERF clients including Texas Public Schools, Major religious associations, and state and local festivals with over 200,000 attendees. Then the opportunity to be Senior Event Manager at UT was offered and all I could say was Hook em! The next transition was to TWU, and I look forward to sharing the success stories of Women Entrepreneurs through out our state! Unique Success: I Had the honor of remaining in-person at The University of Texas, Texas Union during the pandemic shutdown and the superstorm of 2021. After 30 years of Special Event experience....there are always new unexpected challenges. Re-negotiated group rooms and meeting space contracts for hotel with customer satisfaction issues. Securing over $500,000 in repeat contracts annually. Secured Presidential primary candidate, advance team. Closed account within 24hrs of initial contact. Managed events and venue for major religious conference with attendance of 100,000. Developed SOP's, and built team for annual festival prime vendor, 200,000 attendees, doubled their sales in the first year. Skills include - Certified Business Advisor, qualifying sales accounts, establishing relationships, knocking down objections, revenue maximization, complex meeting and event planning, project management from concept to completion, data driven analysis, proficient in sales and CRM software, multi-tasking, expert problem solver, sincere collaborator, team leader. On the personal side - My 8 weeks/year with a Renaissance Faire worked well with my passion to truly know people from all walks of life. It inspired me to celebrate our vast differences. My spouse and I want to say YES to life today and not wait for "retirement". On a three day weekend we might be at the Big Andrew in Maine, or a Yardy in Brooklyn. For quiet time we grow hot peppers in the summer, harvest in the fall, and create fun meals with them through out the winter. There's nothing better than a book you can't put down or a series you binge all night. Add family and popcorn, and you have perfection.
