For most senior leaders today, the question is no longer “Should we use AI?” 
That stage has already passed.

With Generative AI and the rise of Agentic AI, we are entering a world where systems do not just respond, they can understand context, prioritise actions, and support real-time decision-making. GenAI helps leaders generate ideas, narratives, and solutions at scale. Agentic AI goes further by adding autonomy, enabling AI to act as a context-aware decision partner rather than just a tool. 

I saw this shift clearly during a recent session in the 𝐈𝐒𝐁 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐈 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞. A CXO reflected on how AI discussions in leadership meetings often start with tools, pilots, and capabilities but rarely with governance, orchestration, and strategic ownership. The breakthrough came when they reframed AI as a leadership responsibility: Agentic AI to support context-driven prioritisation, and GenAI to accelerate strategic thinking and alignment across business units. 

It reinforced a crucial point: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐬. 

The real opportunity is not in adopting more AI tools, but in learning how to lead with intelligence, human and artificial, working together to drive sharper decisions, stronger alignment, and meaningful impact.
