Today’s companies are focusing on three main areas in the #sustainability transformation: protecting the #climate, using resources as well as becoming better stewards of nature!

Decarbonizing industries is key if we are serious about limiting global warming. Industries alone were responsible for 20 Gt CO2eq greenhouse gas emmisions, roughly 34% of all man-made emissions and that number continues to rise (IPCC, 2022).

It’s our decision to change NOW creating a future where we can produce as well as consume products and services without adverse environmental impacts or resource depletion. 

The challenges will be very different for each sector. Our goal is to be a force for #change with evidence-based analysis, first-hand insight from Deloitte practitioners and the broad-based, deep expertise that our company has gained across industries & around the word!

Last week I had the opportunity to speak in front of 10,000 people about my role as Voice for Innovation at Deloitte & Corporate Tech Influencer here on LinkedIn.
 
Why do we invest in this role?
 
Because we can reach talent in innovative ways through creative storytelling, attract new clients and strengthen relationships by showcasing customer projects, and discover new partners and networks by building connections on LinkedIn. This allows us to position ourselves more effectively as a company in the long term.
 
#CorporateInfluencing represents the new wave of corporate communication, making a brand more accessible and giving it a human face. I‘m proud to have developed this role with my team and to represent Deloitte in the field of innovation and technology for people across Europe.

Servus from Munich! Last week, together with our Smart Factory Leader Britta Mittlefehldt, I was invited by Roman Hölzl, Frank Thelen & Christian Lindner to RobCo‘s factory opening in Munich. They showcased a robotic arm designed to assist with lifting heavy weights in factories.

These are the best days for me - being with 4,500 Deloitte Consulting colleagues when we all come together in one place. It feels like bringing our powerhouse to life!

I‘m incredibly proud to be part of this company. For me, it’s more than just a job. It’s a part of my life that I have lived and loved for three and a half years now.

At our Consulting Event, called “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲”, we focus on defining and discussing our next joint goals & the future of consulting. We do this through various sessions with outstanding speakers and delightful surprises!

What means “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲” for me? 

✔️ 𝗛𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻-𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱: What will be the role of humans in the future? Where does #human work end and machine work begin? And what will "purpose" signify in the coming years? It's our responsibility to address this, develop tech skills, and leverage collective intelligence to manage the transformation.

✔️ 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: Sustainability is not an innovation; it is the foundation of everything we do. We must integrate #sustainability into every aspect of our operations and utilize technology to create a greener future.

✔️ 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆: Managing #technology responsibly and combining different technologies for the greater good. "Tech for good" involves using technology to enhance sustainability, efficiency, and humanity in all our endeavors.

When I viewed this video, I was very curious about the future of #mobility. What comes next? Will there eventually only be self-driving electric cars circling cities that people can hop on and off? Will air cabs pick us up from dinner, or will we just beam ourselves anywhere in the world from home?
 
Our 2024 Global Deloitte Automotive Consumer Survey, with 27,000 respondents from 26 countries, predicts the following:
 
✔️ 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 67% of US consumers prefer combustion engines; in China, 33% prefer electric vehicles. Main reasons for EVs are lower fuel costs and environmental concerns. Biggest concerns are charging time and range anxiety.
 
✔️ 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘃𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - 78% of Indian vehicle owners plan to switch brands, while only 35% in Japan. Key reasons are new technologies and better features. Price, quality, and sustainability are important factors.
 
✔️ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 - Developing markets show more interest in connected features, despite data sharing. 88% in India and 82% in Southeast Asia value maintenance updates and traffic forecasts. More willingness to pay in India (71%) and China (60%); car manufacturers are most trusted for data.
 
✔️ 𝗩𝗲𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 - 67% of consumers in India, 48% in China, and 46% in Southeast Asia are interested in vehicle subscriptions due to convenience and predictable costs. Main concerns are availability, total cost, and higher fees compared to leasing.
 
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗺𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱, 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱! 🚙🦾

YOU ALL ROCK! I was genuinely amazed by the power of our global #community around Deloitte. Deloitte is a global firm with nearly half a million associates in over 150 countries and territories across six continents. Through our #DeloitteChallenge we brought this #network to life! 
 
Last week, I posted a picture in front of our Vienna office announcing a global #challenge, asking our community to take a photo in front of a Deloitte #office in their city and send it to me or comment on the posts. I collected these pictures until July 7th, and today, I'm wanted to share 9 of them with you. 
 
I received hundreds of messages and pictures from Japan to Italy, from Brasil to Switzerland, from South Africa to Denmark, and each photo brought immense joy!! It was incredible to see so many colleagues participating and showcasing their locations #worldwide!
 
A #network is only as strong as its active #connections, and we really connected the dots! I’m so proud of this joint achievement!
 
In the end, I couldn't limit myself to just 9 pictures and chose a few more to highlight the extent of our #DeloitteChallenge. 
 
‼️ STAY TUNED this won't be the last challenge we will do together on my profile! I'm already planning new ones that will be at least as exciting, if not more so!

At Deloitte we have various programs & collaborations, like Calliope, Smart Factory Believers Program und Hacker School to teach pupils innovation & technology in a playful way.
 
What do we want to achieve for our future generation with this?
 
✔️ 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴: Encouraging the development of innovative thought processes and fostering creativity to enhance problem-solving abilities.
 
✔️ 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀: Building understanding not only in programming but also in other technologies to be well-prepared for the future.
 
✔️ 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗙𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: Leading projects with a strong commitment to eco-friendly practices and a purpose-driven approach to sustainability.
 
✔️ 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠: Increasing accessibility and appeal of STEM fields to girls, striving for balanced gender representation and equal opportunities in these areas.
 
This is just the beginning of teaching tech skills in #schools, helps fill the gap where school curriculums lack #technology subjects!

During my last workation, I collected so much plastic from the #sea in one day. I realized that while one person may seem insignificant, #change begins with small actions and individual mindsets.

𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀:

At Deloitte we support initiatives like The Ocean Clean Up. With 3,000 pro bono hours, we’ve helped improve their business model through new Salesforce features, IT, and cybersecurity support. By scaling and professionalizing, we’ve ensured they have the resources, strategies, and technology to succeed.

The Ocean Clean Up is a non-profit organisation that frees the #oceans from plastic. This is how it works:

✔️ 𝗧𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁: By using #AI-based computer models, they are able to predict the plastic hotspots and place the cleaning systems in these areas.

✔️ 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲: By maintaining a relative speed difference to the plastic, the plastic can be caught in the retention zone of the cleanup system. 

✔️ 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: Once the system is full, the portion of the retention zone is taken on board of a ship, unloaded there. Afterwards the retention zone is put back in place to continue cleaning.

✔️ 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴: Once the containers are filled with plastic, they are brought to land to transform the collected material into long-lasting and valuable products.

𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘀𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿, 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗲𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! 💚🦾
