To KNOW me is to better personalize your targeting to me.
To better target me, is to make me notice you.
And when I notice you, I may just decide to buy from you.

👉 Know the real person you are targeting. It makes all the difference.

You need to be asking. 
Don’t assume.


There is a quote I like by Philip Kotler:
“Marketing is the homework we do before we have a product”


Of course, if your product is already developed, we don’t have the luxury of going back in our time machine to use marketing for product research and development.

(But that would be cool)


HOWEVER, you CAN use marketing (research) to better position your product NOW for success.


Questions you should ask your customers directly:

⇢ What challenge, need, or desire does this product or service solve?
⇢ What features do you particularly love?
⇢ What features do you wish you had?
⇢ Why do you use this product over XYZ competitor?



💡By knowing these answers, you can shine a lot on the really great features and benefits you offer. 


✔ Craft content and messages based on these insights. 
✔ Use that to tell a story.
✔ Highlight the features and benefits your customers truly value.
✔ Shine a light on unexpected use cases.
✔ Showcase your customer testimonials or other user generated content. 
✔ Use the feedback for product development or repositioning.



Always ask. 
Never assume.


🤓 Fun Fact: 
Post-it Notes were originally developed as temporary bookmarks. The founders pivoted the product positioning / marketing when they realized they made for excellent ways to share notes.

That's the beauty.

We all have different goals.



For me, sharing my journey, both professionally and personally, has allowed me to connect on a deeper level.

It's SO easy to scroll through social media and feel like everyone else has it all figured out.

Trust me.
✘ Been there.
✘ Done that.

I used to be on Facebook and quit because it just made me feel so bad.
My life wasn’t where I wanted it to be at the time.
And I compared myself to all these seemingly happy people with perfect lives


I was going through a lot of personal changes in my life.
A lot of really HARD stuff.

I lost my son to cancer.
I myself then got cancer (happily cancer-free now!)
Relationship was blah.
I was angry.

But.. When I got the official cancer-free diagnosis, things changed.

♥ I was done. 
♥ Ready to LIVE!

I turned to yoga and meditation and adopted a Can Do! attitude. 
Decided to live my best life!

❤️ Starting then and there.

And today, I am truly happy, blessed and hoping to inspire others through my humor, compassion, and empathy. 

I’m so grateful to each and every one of you for supporting me here, popping in with comments, showing love and likes, sending DM’s.  I love connecting with you all. 🤗

📌An important lesson I want you to take away today.

Behind every seemingly perfect facade, there's always a story of ups and downs, struggles and triumphs.


We each have our own stories of pain and happiness, setbacks and challenges.
And on social, it’s especially important to remember, you're only seeing a curated snapshot of someone else's life, not the full picture. 


So instead of comparing yourself to others, focus on your own journey and the vision of yourself that you want to achieve.

And Live Your Best Life!

⇢Don't use emojis 
⇢Stick to one or two content pillars
⇢Wait, nevermind, your doing all of it wrong

⇢If you start all over, you can make oodles of $
⇢Yes! Share selfies
⇢Yes! Be personal

🤷‍♀️

But like any good marketing strategy, it really all depends on what you trying to accomplish and your particular goals. 


✔️ Know your why (leads, branding, networking)
✔️ Develop FOR your audience. (not for you)
✔️ Test and learn.
✔️ Pivot as you need to.
✔️ Bomb a few posts (or dozens)
✔️ Keep showing up.


What works for me may not work for you.

So listen to advice but trust yourself.

Speaking of..

👩‍🎓 My daughter is graduating with her nursing degree in just over a month!  And she too is on the hunt for her dream job.

She created an amazing resume.
➼ In Canva
➼ She added her picture
➼ I helped her sell herself but she hit it out of the ball park!

She now has an interview with a hospital in a week!

She researched interview questions that they may ask.  
👩‍⚕️ She follows (well-regarded) nursing influencers on TikTok and got lots of great tips and insights.

What I particularly love... 
She asked me, 
"Can I ask them questions too?  I may be a fit for THEM, but what if they aren't a fit for ME?"

I know we don't always have the luxury of asking these questions, especially in a competitive market and as a new graduate.  

BUT
Girl - you make your mamma proud!

The Shepherd's Path...162 steps

Pure hell
AND
Pure bliss

I went through intensive pelvic radiation several years ago during cancer treatment which left my hips worse for wear.


This past week, I walked up 162 steps at Giants Causeway in Northern Ireland. This was once a rough narrow pathway passable only by sheep and their shepherds. 

My legs hurt.
My hips hurt.
But I was determined.

I  reached the top and felt such joy, pride and happiness and wanted to share this remarkable experience with you all. ❤️ 

"Strength doesn't come from what you can do. Strength comes from overcoming the things you thought you couldn't" - unlnown

We all have obstacles. Push yourself. Try. Be willing to fail and then dig a little deeper.

I knew better..

But I kept pushing.
Lots of meetings.
An impossible to-do list.  I knew I added too much but was going to power through.

✘ I didn't take a break.
✘ I didn't drink water.
✘ I didn't move.

I had time to step away.  But nope.. I just wanted to keep pushing.
And now.. 😫 

My head is buzzing.. (the familiar feeling of anxiety and stress)
A headache just behind my eyes.

📌 REMINDER.  (for myself and you)

✔ Take a break.
✔ Drink water.
✔ Move.
✔ Step away.
✔ Block off your calendar.

Just. Step. Away.

15 minutes to stretch, a glass of water by my desk, a 10 minute break outside, would have been such a difference.

Tomorrow is a new day.  ❤️
