Senior Engineer -- Technical Development Extrusion

Concurrent with work as Senior Engineer, significant focus in the area of Data Science:

•	Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, focusing on polymers and polymeric surfaces, insatiably curious about science, especially the fundamentals of polymers

•	Topics including supply chain, preventative maintenance, machine performance, quality specifications and others, Proof-of-Concept (POC) implementation of large-scale data analysis

•	20+ years of coding experience: VBA, Java, FORTRAN, C++, C#, Python, R, actively learning and up-to-date on new coding languages

•	Everyday user of statistical tools (e.g. ANOVA, correlation, t-test) to understand the relationship between production variables, establishing trends through data analysis

• Works closely with other process engineers and technicians to understand current production capability and identify opportunities for improvement and development along the entire production chain

• Performs complex analysis of historical data, trends, SPC, quality data and production metrics to discover root cause and develop production operating windows

• Creates and analyzes results from three-dimensional models (AutoDesk) of current and proposed production equipment to assist and direct DOE trials for continuous improvement 

• Develop SQL queries for current and archived SCADA information and web defect databases to support quality, engineering and production inquiries

Process Engineering Group -- Projects and Research

Manage the day-to-day operations of the extrusion of polypropylene product, responsible for all trials covering polymer extrusion and provide direction and leadership to engineering technicians.

•	Authored SOPs and SOCs for extrusion/polymer production and resin delivery.
•	Led process improvement of existing extrusion lines, improved through-plant yield and efficiency; assisted development of new product and processes unique to Concord facility; submitted capital funding for new plant equipment and upgrading existing process lines.  
•	Expert at analyzing and data mining large amounts of data for purposes of identifying trends and root cause analysis; experienced user of Pivot and PowerPivot tables, Access, SQL; previous/current user of VB Net, R, Python, Java and shell scripting languages.
•	Identified a need for new and additional quality and production applications.  Developed from scratch new GUI/applications which are utilized by the engineers to ensure maximum quality of products.
•	Developed SQL code to query the optical inspection database to safeguard against shipping product which would potentially cause harm to consumers of our products. 
•	Worked closely in cross-functional teams with R&D, production, quality and supply to identity process improvement opportunities and resin improvement.

Process Engineer -- Polymer Extrusion

Using traditional molecular dynamics to develop a suitable coarse-grained model of simple lipid systems containing ceramides, fatty acids and cholesterol; investigating oligomers and polymers confined in pores using discontinuous molecular dynamics simulations; directed the summer research of an undergraduate student, investigated the role of methyl groups on cholesterol
