• Enhanced current relationships within the customer base and developed new relationships by creating value, managing expectations, delivering exceptional levels of support, and demonstrating a customer-centric attitude; lead customer negotiation in relation to pricing, promotions and supply, ensuring positive ROI 
• Proactively developed key initiatives such as consolidation of existing distributors; targeted value propositions to achieve sales and profit target
• Transitioned and expanded PUR’s portfolio with direct distribution of major retail accounts (e.g. Loblaw, Longo’s)
• Managed field sales reps nationally to ensure product presence in the market, monitoring promotional activities and growing brand awareness at store level and increasing sales

• Demonstrated and proved high performance in both commercial and relationships aspects with all retailers on the portfolio
• Recruited challenging national accounts for both private label and national brand; opened new distribution channels of the national brand at LCL and Sobeys banners
• Worked closely with Marketing, Finance, Logistics and Merchandising teams

• Liaised daily on behalf of this manufacturer and distributor of Silversmith, Denby, Aynsley, Splendide, Royal Sheffield and Atlantis Crystal, with manufacturers/factories – Sourcing and negotiating with new product development, product testing, shipping and logistics.
• Demonstrated ability to multitask over various private label projects, meet deadlines and deliver on time
• Utilized business skills including performing competitive analysis and planning
• Oversaw trade shows/showrooms floor plans, booth set up, product selection and design

• Developed and maintained private label collections for Canada’s major leading retailers (LCL - PC, EE, No Name, CTC – Mayfair & Jackson, Sears- WH, Roots, Martha Stewart, Bowring, JMS, Portofino, and HWI’s National brands such as Breville, Keurig and Scanpan
• Planned annual budgets and sales targets, successfully increasing sales by 30% with double the number of SKU items per account

I almost bombed my first investor pitch. Here's what saved me. 🧵

Real talk: Last week I pitched The Original Maverik to VCs for the first time, and I was NOT ready. 🫣 

I'd just finished the National Women's Show. I was exhausted. I had maybe 3 days to prepare a pitch that should have taken 3 weeks.

I kept thinking: "Why didn't I start earlier? Why is everything happening at once?"
But here's the thing about entrepreneurship, it doesn't wait for you to be ready.

So I showed up anyway. 
And a village of incredible people showed up for me:

💙 Deanna Andersen, literally babysat me daily (yes, daily!). every slide, every word, every transition, she refused to let me present anything less than professional-level work. Every detail mattered to her, and that made all the difference. 👌 

💙 Talli Koren, Helped me find the authentic flow. Not just business metrics, the real story. The single mom moment. The "aha" in the cleaning aisle. The mission behind the product.

And then I pitched. 😳 

Was it perfect? No. 
Did I stumble? Maybe. 
Was I nervous? Kinda.

But here's what happened:
The VCs listened. They challenged me. They asked hard questions about margins, CAC, scaling, competition.
And then they said the words that meant everything:
"You've got something really good happening here. We see your journey. Keep going."

That acknowledgment, that genuine recognition of the work, the hustle, the progress, it fueled something in me.

3 Lessons I'm Taking Forward:
1️⃣ Start earlier: Seriously. Even if you think you have time, you don't.
2️⃣ Community is everything: You cannot do this alone. Find your village.
3️⃣ Done beats perfect: Show up. Tell your story. Let the work speak.
