I started working for Air Doctor in 2020, on a freelance basis as a content writer.  
Since then, my role has evolved into a full-time content marketing and PR management role.

I previously led a small (but incredible) creative team at a boutique digital marketing agency that catered to a diverse clientele (list of industries below).

I started my journey at KlickSense as a Junior Copywriter, and in just a few months I was promoted to the position of Media Manager. 

From ideation to seamless project management, I quickly embraced my role as a multi-tasking octopus. 
No lies. 🐙

Day-to-day responsibilities included: 

- Developing and implementing internal and external processes.
- Creating and managing SEO, PPC, and social media content strategies for client success.
- Approving a range of ad hoc and monthly creative assets ensuring quality deliverables and client satisfaction.
- Onboarding clients on the creative side to align team efforts with client needs.
- Meeting with (current and potential) clients and understanding their objectives.
- Creating precise creative briefs for the team and communicating client feedback.
- Researching and collating in-depth, personalised marketing proposals for diverse clients. 
- Generating and sending client reports.
- Spearheading recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training for new team members and interns.
- And more.

Beyond my core responsibilities, I was committed to continuous growth. 
Nurturing the company's culture became a primary goal during my time at the company.  And I focused a significant amount of energy on fostering a harmonious and inclusive ecosystem. 

While my time at KlickSense wasn't a personal favourite in my career timeline, it played a role in my professional journey. 
I evolved not only as a marketer but also as a person and gained invaluable skills and experience along the way. 🌱

My career as a creative really began as a copywriter on the road.  
I started my freelancing career while travelling the world - a unique experience that taught me countless life lessons.

Starting with humble beginnings on platforms like People Per Hour, Upwork, and LinkedIn - I was a one-person-marketing-show, responsible for every aspect of my business (and many of my clients’ projects). 
Freelancing demands a flair for creativity, in addition to patience and tenacity.

Today, one of my proudest achievements as a freelancer is my work on Air Doctor's blog content.

All in all, my experience as a globe-trotting, (mostly underpaid) freelance content creator has been instrumental in shaping my career and work ethic. 💻

Freelance Copywriter & Content Creator

Hexham Creative

After I got retrenched (during COVID), I found a remote opportunity at a creative digital agency in Somerset West. Hexham Creative specialises in digital marketing services to clients in the real estate sector. I handled various digital marketing tasks for 8 clients. 

Day-to-day responsibilities included:

- Creating, and managing weekly/monthly social media calendars tailored to each client's unique industry and brand guidelines. My duties extended to content posting, strategically boosting specific posts within the brand's marketing budget, and community engagement.
- Managing multiple social media accounts across various platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. 
- Designing an array of digital marketing assets, including social media posts, flyers, brochures, and advertisements, all meticulously aligned with the brand's aesthetic using company design templates and Canva. This included the creation of digital content and marketing assets for individual estate agents across respective branches.
- Regularly composing press releases for clients within the real estate industry. Notably, I delivered two weekly PR pieces for Harcourts South Africa's CEO, Richard Gray, and facilitated the distribution of the final PR materials to media contacts.
- Crafting a variety of digital marketing content, from taglines for advertising campaigns to blog posts, tweets, captions, and copy for images on social media, as well as website content.
- I prepared monthly digital marketing reports for each client by consolidating data from social media platform insights and exporting analytics from Google Data Studio.

Digital Marketing Specialist

The Spagnis - managed services

My first full-time (in-office) marketing job was at the Spagnis - a managed services company in Sandton.
Here I had the opportunity to work on a range of brands across industries, including luxury automotive, high-end holiday rentals, beauty, fintech, and cryptocurrency.

I was an integral part of the creative team, contributing as a copywriter and social media strategist.

Day-to-day responsibilities included: 

- Brainstorming visual and copy ideas with the team for all marketing collateral across digital and physical campaigns, such as newsletters, event merchandise, and more.
- Engaging in client discussions to grasp core messages and target audiences for campaigns. 
Interpreting copywriting briefs to meet project requirements.
- In-depth market research and interviews to ensure high-quality content.
- Creating content, ie. social media copy, blog posts, website copy, and print copy.
- Managing multiple social media accounts across platforms, incl. Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram - tasks included developing monthly social media plans, scheduling posts using Buffer, strategically boosting select posts within the brand's marketing budget, and community engagement.
- Overseeing final artwork and copy before submission for manager or creative director approval.
- Editing and proofreading support.
- Assisting in various aspects of the creative and research processes to maintain cohesive and accurate content.
