Financial Controller at Gough & Kelly, reporting into the Finance Director to provide timely information to the Board to support profitable growth of the Group.

Key duties include producing monthly management accounts, Group KPI packs and providing financial guidance to departments across the business.

Other duties include budgeting, variance analysis, pricing, and working with the FM to oversee the finance function.

Day-to-day management of the Assistant Accountant, providing guidance and checks on tasks. Month-end responsibilities include posting accruals, prepayments and completing balance sheet reconciliations and collaborating with the Fixed Assets team to identify capex opportunities.

Providing financial support to various projects and decision-making, setting up automated reports and dashboards to help stakeholders visualise data.

My first year was spent in Internal and External Reporting, pulling together the monthly management account packs and drafting annual statutory financial statements for subsidiaries.
