Corporate Controller for privately held Austin, Texas based manufacturing company. Doubled as the Corporate Controller for a related R&D organic food entity for the Company. Led the Company's Accounting function, which encompassed responsibilities such as; management of the corporate accounting function, all functions related to the production of company financial statements (month-end/ quarter-end/ year-end close, reconciliations, accruals, cash flow management, management of company credit cards, A/P, A/R, invoicing/ progress billing, deposits, fixed assets, SALT (sales and use tax) returns, compliance for CA and TX, year end compliance, vendor and customer management; all HR related items (preparation and submittal of payroll, management, prep/submittal of 401K contributions and compliance of company 401K plan, accrued vacation calculations, management/compliance for all insurance (work comp, auto, GL, and health/ dental), maintenance of employee files, budget preparation and analysis, job costing to determine company profit margins, preparation of sales contracts, purchasing, and utilization of a purchase order system, commission maintenance and calculations for sales personnel. TempCFO was a business model developed by Whitfield and Johnson, LLP for finance and tax consulting targeting clients in the high tech and internet startup arena in California's Silicon Valley.

Functioned as an accounting specialist in all aspects of general ledger (GL) : accounts receivable/ collections/ accounts payable/ purchasing/ invoicing within one finance department for two separate corporate entities (hardware/ software reseller and web site hosting/ colocation management).  Included credit reference investigation, authorizing credit approval, establishing credit limit/ terms for customers, application of customer payments, and creation of purchase orders/ invoices. Role was instrumental in the success of month end/ quarter end/ year end close. Supported the Controller on special projects.

GKN Aerospace

Accounts receivable (A/R) specialist for multi-corporate manufacturing structure including; collections, billing, invoicing, credit and debit memo issuance, application of customer payments (direct/ wire transfer/ lockbox deposits), maintaining and liquidating unapplied cash, unit price discrepancies, direct contact with customer’s AP departments to research and reconcile disputes. Supported finance department throughout ISO 9001 Certification as well as the corporate acquisition of Dow-UT by GKN Westland Aerospace Inc. Additional duties include maintenance and distribution of monthly aged receivable report, reconciliation and distribution of petty cash,  general ledger journal entries, and monthly cash reconciliations. Participant on the ERP Conversion Team to BAAN.
