We help you to protect your income and then we help you to make sure that any claim that you make to an insurer is paid. We have helped over 400 of our clients to submit claims to insurance for disability income protection, long term disability insurance and critical illness insurance claims. Of these 99% + of our clients'  claims have been approved as applied for by the insurers, but in many cases only after our repeated intervention. Insurers want to see proof before they pay out and we understand what they want to see and how to get it.

We are virtually the only insurance agents in Canada who do this for our clients. Most agents will tell you to contact the insurance company directly at the time of claim. We don't, we help you to submit the claim and then we help again, month after month and year after year. Insurance agents, financial advisers and lawyers hire us to help their clients with insurance claims.

We assist our client to complete the claim forms> We help them to obtain and provide the supporting medical documentation that insurers want to see. We help our client to obtaine and provide supporting financial documentation and we provide ongoing support to our claimants.

The Canada Sales Congress

The Canada Sales Congress was conceived by Lawrence Ian Geller and Jim Ruta at a meeting in October 2012 when we determined that Canadian Insurance Agents and Financial Advisors needed the mentorship of senior, experienced, and highly successful members of the profession.

The concept that evolved was to present the best 10 client communication ideas of each of 18 highly successful members of the profession each year, at an annual Congress. The first was held at The Allsteam Centre in Toronto in May, 2013 and this was followed up by a second, even more successful, Congress in May, 2014.

At The GALA Luncheon of each Congress we presented The Joe Dickstein Scholarships (one from ForAdvisorsOnly.com and the other from Jim Burton of PPI Advisory) to students in Financial Services courses who were interested in careers in insurance sales.

In November 2014 The Canada Sales Congress was sold to Serge Therrien of The Insurance & Investment Journal who had been approached in January, 2013, to become the third founding partner of The Canada Sales Congress.

Israel Has Created a New Standard for Urban Warfare. Why Will No One Admit It?

‘The Israel Defense Forces conducted an operation at al-Shifa hospital in the Gaza Strip to root out Hamas terrorists recently, once again taking unique precautions as it entered the facility to protect the innocent; Israeli media reported that doctors accompanied the forces to help Palestinian patients if needed. They were also reported to be carrying food, water and medical supplies for the civilians inside.

None of this meant anything to Israel's critics, of course, who immediately pounced. The critics, as usual, didn't call out Hamas for using protected facilities like hospitals for its military activity. Nor did they mention the efforts of the IDF to minimize civilian casualties.

In their criticism, Israel's opponents are erasing a remarkable, historic new standard Israel has set. In my long career studying and advising on urban warfare for the U.S. military, I've never known an army to take such measures to attend to the enemy's civilian population, especially while simultaneously combating the enemy in the very same buildings. In fact, by my analysis, Israel has implemented more precautions to prevent civilian harm than any military in history—above and beyond what international law requires and more than the U.S. did in its wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.’

FUNDRAISING OBJECTIVES: The Clinic was initially founded in the Spring of 2020 in response to the job loss and employment law challenges faced by Ontarians following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the Clinic has been registered as a not-for-profit corporation and has provided over 4,500 hours of free legal services to individuals who cannot afford a lawyer. In addition to providing free legal services to those in need, the Clinic provides mentorship and experiential learning opportunities for law students at the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law. The Clinic operates from May-August each year. It has received varying levels of funding since 2020 which has allowed the Clinic to provide modest compensation to the law student interns and, as the Clinic’s operations have expanded, to a part-time executive director. Funding has steadily decreased “post-COVID” and, as such, the Clinic is calling upon the amazing Ottawa legal community for its support.
