Do this:

- Refill all prescriptions while you're still on health insurance (use GoodRX to save if your health insurance has already been terminated)

- Post about it on LinkedIn sooner than later. It doesn't have to be a long post if you're not feeling it, but get a post up so your network can support you.

- Ask for LI recommendations. Now is the time people are offering to help you, get your recommendations while your layoff is still fresh in their mind. Reach out to your former colleagues, bosses, and clients.

- Add stats to your resume while they are still fresh in our mind.

- File for unemployment ASAP. You may need to wait until the next work week.

A lot of marketing articles will tell you that the worst thing you can do as an email marketer is include the word "free" in your subject lines.

They say how it triggers spam filters, is overused, will decrease open rates etc.

This is a myth that might have been true a while ago, but marketing tools, email clients, and behavior have changed.

Do your own test before following blanket advice! 

I A/B tested 2 subject lines, one including "free trial" while the other did not. 

Both subject lines had insane open rates with marginal differences. (There were zero spam reports and 1 bounce).

What mattered here is that I was sending to a healthy, engaged list of contacts. 

It also helps that we really are offering a FREE trial, and not any type of bait and switch situation.

Reminder context is queen 👑  and common advice isn't always right for you.

There were a lot of bizarre things about my 6-month job search, to say the least.

But one thing I couldn't help but notice was the lack of women in leadership positions as I interviewed for different roles.

IDK if I'm just hyper-aware of it because I'm a friend of Dorothy, but truth be told, it's an issue that's been flying under the radar for far too long.

That's why it's so important to listen to people like ✊Heidi Solomon-Orlick and the team at GirlzWhoSell.

It's also something that I absolutely loved about SmartPass. 🎒

What makes a strong PMF?

Contrary to popular believe, PMF doesn't actually stand for Product-Market Fit*.

It's true.

It really means 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘧***𝘦𝘳!

As in, your product is so MF good that your customers say "This is the MF solution I've been looking for."

Even the best marketing campaigns can't get pipeline for a product that doesn't have a clear use case.

But this type of PMF isn't just about the functional stuff, it's the emotional connection

It's about DELIGHTING your customers with how well the product solves their problems.

Then continuing to listen to them and incorporating their feedback into product updates, positioning, and opportunities for premium tiers.
