Program Manager

Delivering a 28-hour Project Management training in which we discuss key aspects of the PMI knowledge areas as well as best practices of the industry and from inside the company. Filled with specific examples and based on in-class exercises, I delivered this training in three Luxoft locations, across three different countries.

A 16-hour training aimed at the people willing to adopt Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP) in their project or organization, as well as at those who want to compare their ways of working with industry best practices.
The training is built on practical exercises, Scrum simulation, discussions and case studies illustrating the basic principles and practices of Agile development.

Trainer - Project Management and Agile

Managing approximately 40 engineers in one of the Infotainment Continental accounts. Main responsible for delivery of new features, bug-fixing by the development team, triage of local software defects as well as the results of the local pre-integration and testing team. 

Responsibilities included but not limited to:
 - Overall responsibility for Delivery of Project team
 - Participating in SAFe events (PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Sprint Demo, Sprint Retrospective, PO Sync Meetings)
 - Planning and estimating for each Program Increment
 - Estimating the resources needed to achieve the project goal.
 - Assessing the severity of the bugs and features that need to be implemented.
 - Tracking the project deliverables and their progress

Senior Project Manager / SAFe Product Owner in Automotive

Working closely with the Luxoft Sales team and the Telecom Management team on new leads in order to attract new customers for the telecom LoB. Participating in requirements meetings, analyzing technical requests, proposing solutions. Coming up with the project plan in terms of technical aspects, engineering experience, cost and time needed for the required quality. 

Communicating extensively and negotiating with the client in order to find ways to successfully fulfill both their expectations as well as ours.

Pre-Sales Project Manager

Release Prime for a series of projects in the Lenovo/IBM System Networking division. Planning, coordinating the team members, establishing the test environment, writing test-plans, allocating resources as well as team-working with the development team for bringing further quality to the testing process. Responsible for the test coverage and progress for a mixed nationalities team (China/USA/India/Romania).

Coordinating several Functional Teams in the Lenovo/IBM System Networking division, consisting of both manual and automation engineers. Consulted on overall Test Strategy, analyzing the Requirements in order to write the functional and non-functional Test Cases, assigning tasks to team members and keeping a day-to-day communication with the developers assigned to the feature as well as with the Project Manager located in Santa Clara. Also working "hands-on" with my colleagues in testing several features, especially in the L2 and L3 areas.

Engineering Team Leader / Release Prime

Relocated to Santa Clara, California, responsible for designing and building complex topologies, containing equipment from multiple vendors (Cisco, Juniper, etc.). Had direct contact with problems coming from the field, co-working with the development team in order to solve as quickly as possible the "hot issues" coming from clients like Morgan Stanley, New York Stock Exchange, London Stock Exchange, eBay or Microsoft.

System networking engineer

Creating automated test-cases and integrating them in test-suites, intended for porting on other hardware platforms, using TCL scripting and iTest Fanfare software.

Testing the capabilities of network equipment in the form of "embedded switches" or "standalone switches", including but not limited to: STP, OSPF, BGP, RIPv2, NTP, platform features, etc. produced by Blade Network Technologies, now a Lenovo Company.

Și cum mergeam eu spre Porsche Nord să dau avans la 911, am primit o urare care m-a pus pe gânduri:

"Să îți dorești ce ai"

Cum toată lumea îți urează să ai tot ce îți dorești, cred că e important să fim recunoscători pentru lucrurile din viața noastră.

Și eu intru în al 41-lea an al vieții recunoscător pentru oamenii din viața mea, mai apropiați sau mai îndepărtați.

Învăț în fiecare zi ceva de la voi.

Postarea mea de acum câteva zile a prins aripi. 

Azi vreau să merg un pas mai departe.

(Știți vorba aia, bate fierul cât e cald 😉 )

Pentru că, odată cu 40 de ani, vin și câteva adevăruri pe care viața ți le servește.

Uneori neașteptat.

Mi-am notat patruzeci dintre ele. Nu sfaturi. Nu lecții motivaționale.

Doar lucruri pe care le-am trăit, învățat, repetat, uitat și redescoperit.

Cum ar fi:

• Disciplina câștigă mereu în fața motivației
• Progresul începe adesea cu pași penibil de mici
• Cele mai mari regrete vin din tăcere, nu din eșec
• Brandul personal îți decide viitorul mai mult decât talentul
• Identitatea îți modelează acțiunile mai mult decât skill-urile
• Oamenii nu vor neapărat sfaturi, ci pe cineva care să-i asculte

Saptamana trecuta am participat impreuna cu colegii mei la Tax & Technology Summit, organizat de Camera Consultantilor Fiscali.
A fost o oportunitate sa vedem solutiile existente pe piata si sa discutam eventuale parteneriate. 
Ma bucur sa vad ca tehnologia este din ce in ce mai prezenta in domeniul fiscalitatii.

Most people think they need more motivation.

But motivation is unreliable.
It disappears the moment life gets heavy.

Motivation isn’t sturdy. Discipline is.

I learned this while training for my first half-marathon.
One rainy morning, I kept waiting to feel like running - but the feeling never came.

So I asked myself a better question:
“What would discipline look like right now?”

My answer was simple:
Monday. Wednesday. Sunday.
60 minutes. No excuses.

That small act of discipline changed everything —
in running, in writing, in my career, in my identity.

Epictetus said it clearly:
“No great thing is created suddenly.”
And nothing great is sustained by motivation alone.

Motivation sparks you.
Discipline builds you.

Whatever you’re postponing because you’re waiting to “feel ready”...
Stop waiting.

Start.
Show up.
Let it compound.

Warren Buffett's latest letter, released a few days ago is one of the most powerful things I've read in a while.

You can find it all online, but this last bit is priceless.

I loved especially:

"Greatness does not come about through accumulating great amounts of money, great amounts of publicity or great power in government. When you help someone in any of thousands of ways, you help the world. Kindness is costless but also priceless."

and

"Keep in mind that the cleaning lady is as much a human being as the Chairman."

Special day at BISM - Bucharest International School of Management, as the students from my Digital Transformation course presented their solutions for their group projects. 

I was amazed at how well-thought-out, clear, and innovative their presentations were!

20-year-old students at a non-technical university delivered near-MBA-level presentations on digital transformation for their company of choice.

The future looks bright!

Deși am avut emoții, acestea au dispărut în momentul în care am văzut energia din sala. 

Să vorbești 2 ore la 80 de oameni e mai greu decât pare și va mulțumesc ca ati fost un grup foarte activ.

Today we wrapped up our Digital Transformation course with a fantastic visit to Sameday Romania, one of the leading delivery companies in Romania.

We got to see behind the scenes of their operations and hear directly from the team about:

- how they stay relevant in such a fast-changing, tech-driven market
- the challenges of scaling logistics while keeping customers happy
- what a technology-first mindset really looks like in day-to-day decisions


It was the perfect real-life example of how digital transformation is not just about tools, but about people, data, and continuous innovation.

This visit also marked the end of the course, from which I’ve learned a lot and gained a much clearer perspective on how businesses adapt to the future.

Big thank you to Leonard Alexandru for guiding us through this journey and making it so practical, insightful and inspiring.
