As a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and older woman, I work to sound the clarion call for women to come together and examine what aging and body image means for them and for our culture. I am proud to be a role model for the therapists whom I supervise to open their world to working with people of all ages and to understand the particular challenges faced by women as they age: in the workplace, at home and in their bodies. I listen to the newer clinicians, their experiences and what they have learned in their training and we exchange experiences and wisdom across a span of 50 years. As a licensed therapist, I bring those five decades of experience to working with people of all ages and generations. I have also worked in the field of Eating Disorders for 40 years and was trained in a feminist psychotherapy model. I have no intention of ever stopping the work that I do and the new learning that is exciting, inspirational and ongoing. My motto is: Not Dead Yet!
