I loved growing up a world-traveling military brat. 🎖 My entire family served in the Air Force. Just about everyone I knew enjoyed the steady paychecks, unlimited benefits, and government-backed pensions. So after getting fired as a golf pro in Georgia at 21, I too joined Air Force, seeking that same job security. Air Force training gave me the courage and discipline to accomplish just about anything. I became a warfighting humanitarian accounting leader. 🫡 Then in 2007, while studying economics in grad school at Syracuse, I made a risky decision to leave the military family business. Only 8 years before the pension started, I quit the Air Force to be a profit-seeking entrepreneur. The first few years in business were quite hard on our family. I made so many miscalculations and repeatedly failed. So much so that all came crashing down after losing a political campaign. Our family had lost everything, even embarrassingly having the electricity shut off. 🥵 But with each loss came a lesson. 🤔 I continued to work hard, accumulated wisdom and started seeing success. And I also discovered I had a knack as an artist and storyteller. A disciplined creative businessman is a powerful combination. The global pandemic helped me appreciate our limited time on earth. Doubling down on my abilities, I started writing about life as an Uber driver. Today I'm an influential content marketer with business smarts and creative talent. I build businesses with consistent branded content. And I still drive an Uber to pay the bills. 😀 Let's connect!
