“The true measure of your potential is not the height of the peak you’ve achieved, but how far you’ve climbed to get there.” - Adam Grant Coming from a lower socio-income background second gen immigration to Singapore, and then first gen in Australia, I did not have a lot of guidance on what to do, how to look for opportunities etc. But the undaunting courage to explore new things way beyond my comfort zone has helped me tap into that hidden potential. - Exploring other cultures through traveling and living long-term in countries (Germany, China, France, and Australia) - Switched my bachelor's degree 2 times to find that 1 degree that taught me about critical thinking - Learnt 5 - 6 languages, converse 3 languages fluently - Playing first-player shooter game - Living 1 year on a mix of crop and sheep farm - Started ballet when I am 30+ - Managing chronic pain and mental health - Arts to Hospitality to a tech background - Worked in early-stage startups and still am - Hiked in many tiny little towns in Germany through couch surfing, in abandoned mountains in China - Learnt how to play more than 1 musical instrument - Piano, Chinese percussion instruments etc Even though it took me longer, these experiences taught me that, mastering your fundamentals, being persistent, and not pigeoning yourself into a hole has helped me to go further.
