I have been the Managing Director and major shareholder of Occupational Health Consultancy Ltd (OHC) for the last 17 years. It is my vision and high standards that underpin the work that OHC undertake. I qualified as an Occupational Health Adviser over 25 years ago. After leaving the NHS I worked for NATS Air Traffic at Swanwick as the Site Nurse and for names such as Bovis Lendlease and Ferguson TV Manufacturers. This means I have extensive knowledge and experience of the sharp end of Health and Safety! In 1995 I set up OHC Ltd to deliver bespoke occupational health services. My remit in 1995 was to improve the health of workers in manufacturing and construction and by this increase the profitability of the business we serve. My main challenge has been leaving 'hands on' occupational health to then running a business and ensuring that my high standards are met across all industry sectors. I enjoy working with my dedicated team of people who are all committed to the one vision of keeping people at work and healthy. This is why OHC 'Supports Health Businesses'. My passion is health surveillance because through this we can connect, influence and persuade employees and employers to pro-actively manage their own health and the health of the business.
