Property Underwriter

SafePoint Insurance Company

- Responsible for recruiting, training and professionally developing Personal Lines Underwriters and Underwriting Service Associates within the Metairie branch.
- Collaborate with upper management in the expansion and day-to-day operations of our reciprocal exchange (Cajun Underwriters). 
- Collaborate directly with the Chief Underwriting Officer in making underwriting decisions & exceptions on applications and policies.
- Collaborate with QA to streamline procedures and identify training gaps or opportunities.
- Provide additional underwriting support and guidance to our marketing team in assisting our agency partners to better understand our underwriting guidelines. 
- Review, research and reply accordingly written responses to Department of Insurance inquiries and/or complaints.

Personal Lines Underwriting Manager

- Work closely with upper management and department leaders to implement Personal Lines goals and objectives.
- Understand and support the department's vision, communicate and drive results at branch level.
- Coach and mentor Personal Lines service & underwriting staff to meet required standards on an annual, quarterly and monthly basis. 
- Identify and recruit new underwriting and service personnel. 
- Foster a positive environment and culture that encourages the team to prosper.
- Manage day-to-day operations within the assigned branch.

Personal Lines Supervisor

- Apply knowledge of underwriting programs, guidelines, contracts, and processes.
- Evaluate new and existing risk and comply with regulatory and industry standards while meeting production goals.
- Utilize internal/external technology while analyzing data to support risk evaluation. 
- Provide guidance to the company’s service team and agency force.
