Schoolio is the first fully customizable curriculum that allows parents and teachers to collaborate to design the most perfect-fit program for each child’s unique needs. As a founder of Schoolio Learning, I began as the Lead Content Designer, personally writing much of the company's content and overseeing hiring and management of the writing team, as well as providing professional editing. I've continued to expand my role, leading the project management of multiple projects simultaneously, such as digitization of content where I managed script writers, voice actors, videographers, and editors across a large, multi-month project, as well as managing global teams across time zones. I participate in Product Development and Innovation as our digital platform continues to grow and evolve. I also assist in marketing, from campaign planning, content design, copywriting, and graphic design. I oversee community development and engagement as well. I have successfully closed several large clients, and currently lead the team in sales acquisitions. I'm passionate about reforming the world of education, embracing technology innovations, and promoting DEI in all the content we create. I have a BA in History with a minor in Sociology from Brock University where my studies focused on the social history of oppressed peoples. I was then selected for the B.Ed Urban Diversity Program at York University, where student-teachers are developed and trained with a focus on embracing Equity, Diversity, and Social Justice into their pedagogy. Original qualifications in Junior-Intermediate education, followed by Additional Basic Qualifications course in Primary Education means I am OCT certified to teach Kindergarten through Grade 10. In 2023 I completed my Executive MBA through Schulich School of Business- York University. I am a teacher turned homeschooling parent, and have spent the last 6 years actively involved in organizing and facilitating homeschooler programming as well as volunteer work mentoring new homeschoolers and running a support group for parents. I've been a guest speaker at many conferences, conventions, and podcasts on home learning business. In my free time, I coach my daughter's horseback riding lessons and run a local small business in bee, hive, and honey sales from our small hobby farm.
