A former journalist for The Philadelphia Inquirer, I know what makes a great story and how to tell it. I led internal and external communications for a nuclear power plant VP. Set messaging, tone, and direction as spokesperson to the media in the highly regulated energy industry. Provided strategic communications counsel to C-suite of a large utility company, writing executive speeches and spearheading change-management communications. I've managed every facet of internal and external communications for two diverse public school districts, including Delaware's largest with 20K students and 19 schools. Demands are great and stakes are high in school PR, where comms leaders handle EVERYTHING: content development, publication management, special events and programming, fundraising, strategic planning, community engagement, and so on. I've counseled school superintendents and school boards through some tough thickets, including teacher contract negotiations, mandated testing and standards rollouts, and convincing taxpayers to okay tax increases to fund millions in major capital improvements and educational programs for students. My last two jobs focused on food, nutrition, and making positive health impacts on people, communities, and the planet. Most recently, I led marketing & communications for Aramark Student Nutrition. I also spearheaded communications & PR for Produce Marketing Association, which connects companies across the global fresh produce and floral supply chains to grow business, consumption, and a healthier world, through the Joy of Fresh.
