Inntel

Inntel is a specialist meeting management, event, hotel reservation and business travel agency to the corporate market.

As Event Director I was responsible for redefining, creating and implementing the Event Management service offering for Inntel's clients. This included creative and project management support for clients such as Vitality Insurance and Arcadis resulting in award winning events.

CP2 Experience

cp2experience is a specialist customer experience consulting and training company with a passion for customer led growth.

As Project Manager, I was responsible for creating, implementing and managing the project management plan for key projects. 

Projects included:

A) Rolling out a behavioural change programme to 70,000 employees of a major fashion retailer across 11 countries and in 8 languages.
B) Project Management to support the design and delivery of a one and two day workshop delivered to  3000 retail bank employees over six months.

As Client Services Director, I was responsible for the strategic direction of the Client Services team which included Key Account Management, Project Management and Delegate Management Services.

The focus was to collaborate with our existing accounts from the Association, Corporate and Pharmaceutical world. We designed solutions including Production, Project Management, Exhibition Management, Communication, Sponsorship, Event Technology, Logistics, Design, Creative Solutions and Design. Clients included Gilead Pharmaceuticals, Jose Cuervo and Phillips Electronics.

Reed & Mackay

As Head of Event Management, I was responsible for the strategic and operational direction of the Event Management Department of Reed & Mackay Travel.

Key responsibilities included: 

A) Ensuring 20% year on year department growth and sales targets met achieved through product and service development, client retention, operational planning and financial management
B) Creating, designing and implementing solutions for professional services clients including Hogan Lovells
C) Leading and developing a team of communication, logistics, technology, aviation and sales individuals.

Head of Event Management

As New Business Director I was responsible for new business strategy and key account development resulting in  + 50% increase in new business sales and +40% increase in income

As Group Account Director,  I was responsible for Key Account Development and retention of existing client base from pharmaceutical, insurance and law sectors. 

Key responsibilities included overseeing the smooth delivery of events including Partner forums, conferences, product launches, incentives, parties and congresses in the UK and overseas with attendance numbers from 10 - 1500 + and budgets exceeding £5 million.

Group Account Director

As Event Manager I was responsible for the event delivery and account management of up to 10 accounts from the Professional Services world.

Responsibilities included: 

A) Leadership of large scale events from 300 - 1000 attendees with budgets ranging from £50k - £1million in the UK and overseas.

Lynton Cooper was a specialist conference and incentive agency focusing on reward and recognition programmes from conception to completion. 

As Account Manager, I worked in a team of four to deliver incentive and conference programmes for communications, insurance and publishing sectors in the UK and overseas from 10 - 500 people.

USAirtours is a leading tour operator specialising in tailor made groups to the USA.

As Group Account Manager, I was responsible for delivery of groups from 10 to 500 people. My work touched both the B2B and B2C market. 

My work included the creation of reader offers with The Guardian, The Daily Telegraph and EMAP.

Euromoney Training is a leading international specialist in financial training, legal training and energy training courses across the UK, EMEA, Asia and Americas.

As Course and Venue Manager I was responsible for project managing 20 courses per year as well as sourcing and negotiating all the contracts for the course venues.

My love for events began in Italy - when during my university placement year working for tour operator, Mark Warner they gave me  free reign to curate local excursions for the in house guests. Go-karting and pizza became my signature experience. 

I’ve worked in events for 30 years, cutting my teeth with some of the best in corporate events and travel before starting The Wentworth Collective.

We create extraordinary business events from concept to execution across the world. 

The thing that pains me the most is to hear the words “it’s just a corporate event.”  

Events are a huge investment - of time and money.

When I speak to a client, I share the magic that can happen when you pull the right people together, at the right time, with the right conditions to create an extraordinary experience.

You can create, “just another corporate event” but why not seize the opportunity to mark a moment in time and create an event that will transform your business’ and its culture.

Strictly hit that moment on Saturday with their new, "Instant Dance" format and and I was glued to it. 💃 🪩 💃

It looked chaotic. 

😳 Last-minute choices
😳 Unexpected timings
😳 Pros and celebs working things out in real time.

As I was watching, it struck me.
The chaotic format worked because the foundations were rock solid. 👊

✅ Tess and Claudia - Emcees, the glue, quietly holding the segment together 
✅ Motsi - a judge who had experienced the format overseas and knew it could work
✅ And, behind the chaos you could see the prep: Producers on stand by, wardrobe ready, tech in sync, floor managers darting around making the impossible happen.

And it reminded me of so many The Wentworth Collective Ltd events we created. When we:

➡️ Transformed a restaurant into an immersive theatre for an awards dinner
➡️ Convinced The Savoy to let us backstage for a VIP incentive
➡️ Turned a very beige hotel into a buzzing street market for a Global Leadership conference

Every one of those ideas came with that familiar knot in the stomach; 
The “this might be slightly mad, but it also might be brilliant” kind.

And they all worked for the same reason Strictly pulled off Saturday night.
↳ The right people 
↳Thoughtful planning and 
↳ Space for events to unfold in the moment.

That mix of nerves + creativity?
That’s where the magic and mind blowing experiences are born

Jonathan Swift said, “It was a brave man who first ate an oyster.”

He had a point.
