I wanted to work for OGUK because it is the leading representative body for the UK offshore oil and gas industry. I had worked for not-for-profit organisations and enjoyed the work, and I liked that OGUK was assisting the UK offshore energy industry, because I love Aberdeen want it to stay a business hub of the future.
I worked with my team and colleagues to create quality copy and post for social media to attract new members. I was responsible for both growth and retention.
I began work March 2, 2020, and by the end of the month was working from home in my new role.
I had to use everything virtual to learn how to do my job, including social media.
When I was going to consult with a new company, or meet with a current member, I used their websites, LInked In, and any other information I could find to do my research on the people in the organisation and the organisation itself.
I became adept at social media use and research, especially to promote our own events and to introduce myself to other people in the industry.

I LOVE to cook, and I love to eat. I wanted to work from home, and I wanted to share my passion for food with people. 
I had been suffering with some health issues, fibromyalgia and vertiginous migraines, so it was better for me to work from home and on my own schedule.
I've always wanted my own business, and friends had been telling me for years to open a restaurant. I wasn't ready to do that, but I thought a catering company was a start.
I think the best kind of food is healthy and tasty homemade food, and I figured other people would enjoy that too. I prepared a few types of menus: a regular menu, a gluten free menu, a vegan menu, and a keto menu. The keto and vegan items became the most popular, and another hit item was my gluten free pumpkin bread.
I promoted with social media posts on Facebook and Instagram, and did a small local paid advertising campaign, I wrote stories about my family, our food history, and attended local markets and businesses with samples.
As much as I enjoyed this line of work, I found it difficult to prepare everything on my own. When orders increased, it was difficult to keep up with demand.
I hope to return to this line of work in the future, but it is still my favourite hobby. I still create new recipes and host tons of dinner parties. I post healthy food and cooking tips on Instagram, and tons of my social media shows my food pics. I'm happy to chat food any time.

I've always volunteered and think it's important to promote charities. That combined with my love of retail make working as the Store Manager for Stella's Voice a great opportunity.
I really enjoy working with people, and I got to know so much of the community working on the shop on King Street. I had a team of volunteers and a part time Assistant Manager, so it was a lot of hard work. I was on my feet running around all day, but the days went really quickly and every day was different.
I rearranged the store to make it look like a boutique, the staff and I deep cleaned the shop, stripped the old carpet, and painted the wood floor so it looked like an upscale retail shop. We had epic window displays, and I shared our displays all over social media. We increased sales, were constantly processing donations, had an incredibly successful Christmas campaign and people donated hundreds of gifts and goods for the children of Moldova. The purpose of Stella's Voice is to raise funds to help protect and educate the youth of Moldova, which is an area that is vulnerable to human trafficking.
I was proud to work for the store, and was able to raise their profile using social media. We hosted a Sip and Paint Fundraiser that we promoted on Facebook, and it was a big success.

After completing a Master's degree in Communication in California, I returned to Florida to live near my family and got a job as an Sales Representative for an advertising publication. 
When I heard there was an opportunity to work with the Press and Journal in the Advertising department, I thought it would be great for me to get back into the advertising and sales world and to possibly work my way up in DC Thomson.  
I was the Sales Administrator for the Advertising Sales team. It was a frantic pace, and I was constantly communicating with the sales reps and the customers. I spent hours on a computer doing data entry and prepping adverts.
I held a fundraiser for MacMillan Cancer Support and that was great for fun and team building in the department.
I worked next to the person that did the research for marketing and social media, but the digital transformation for the paper was slow moving. 
I would have stayed on, but I developed vestibular migraines and could not work on the computer continuously anymore. It was good to be around advertising and sales again, but unfortunately medical issues forced me to have to leave the position.

The Scottish Parliament

I was ready to leave Honda for working a job in the community, and I applied for a role working with an MSP in Aberdeen.
I became a Caseworker for Scottish Parliament, and my job was to help people in the community who were having various issues. I assisted constituents by writing on their behalf to city councils, phoning utility companies, getting down to the root issues of why something hadn't been taken care of.
I worked and lived in Rosemount, and got to know the members and businesses in that community. 
I was trained at Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh, and got the inside tour of Holyrood.
I met a number of MSPs who have not become MPs, and it's exciting to watch them progress in their careers.
I used a CRM  system to enter the different cases, the people, the issues, and the progress on the issues. I learned the ins and outs of local and national government and got to know so many people in the 
Aberdeen area. I learned about industries in the area, and the local media outlets.
This was perhaps my most educational job in Aberdeen, and it was both an honour and privilege to work for Scottish government.
Eventually the MSP I worked for moved on to work for Parliament. I left the job and was interested in working in sales and marketing again.

I had a Honda Accord for years, and have always been a fan of this brand.
I moved to Aberdeen and immediately began the job hunt. I had never been involved the Oil and Gas industry, and Aberdeen had just experienced a major crash in that industry.
I went to a recruitment company, and they were able to set me up an interview with Honda for the following day.
My first official day working for Honda was attending the Alford Car Show to show Honda cars and to do data capture for the company. It was a very exciting day. I met loads of people in the car industry and got to see so many classic and modern cars.
I was trained by the management team, sold a car while still in my probationary period, and was selling cars and earing commission quickly out of my training period. I continued to do local car show and was always number one in data capture. 
I put every event and every car sale on social media.
It was good to be back in sales, but when the opportunity came up to work for Scottish Parliament, I could not resist.
