Internal Communications Manager

I design, develop and deliver a range of engaging communications and initiatives that support business strategy and lead to a shared understanding of our business messages and goals.

Key responsibilities include:

- the development and co-ordination of Internal Communications initiatives to create an understanding of first direct’s strategy, plans and performance. 

- consulting with business areas to determine communication requirements, plans and support for key initiatives and projects. For example with Brand and Marketing, Change, HR, Recruitment and People Experience teams.

- producing a range of creative internal communications in a style and tone that reflect first direct's brand, culture and values, to agreed timescales and budgets.

- developing and maintaining strong and efficient working relationships with all internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

- maintaining accurate records relating to the planning, production and budget management of communications.

- researching, planning, writing, copywriting, editing and publishing comms across various channels and platforms.

Internal Communications Consultant

Admin and complaint logging, reviewing complaints and calculating redress, and quality checking, issuing feedback, checking calculations and proofing letters.

PPI Representative

Assisted customers with their everyday banking on an inbound line. This included complaint resolution, account opening and product sales.

Sales and Service Representative

Shed Media Group

Joined the writing team at Shed Media Scotland for BBC1 online drama, Waterloo Road Reunited. A spin off from the popular BBC1 drama, the six episode interactive series followed popular characters who had left the show following graduation.

Assisted in story development and wrote two scripts for BBC Red Button. Created fictional social media threads between characters for the BBC website, establishing written voices for existing characters of the popular television series.

Scriptwriter

Researched, developed and wrote a three part radio drama for The LAB. Starring River City character Bob Adams, it explored different themes and challenges which children of a primary age may face. Held focus groups with young people to learn about issues faced in schools and developed stories with a radio producer. The play was used as an educational tool in primary schools.

Created and developed profiles and storylines for three new characters on BBC1 drama 'River City'.

I have a track record of creating comms strategies for agile projects, writing content for a variety of internal and external channels, planning leadership events, and managing relationships with senior leaders. 

I'm also a dab hand at creative visual comms and videos production, using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Premier Pro.
