Which?

I led  the multi-million pound portfolio of lifestyle titles at Which? - Which? Money, Which? Travel, Which? Computing and Which? Gardening - and was responsible for their strategy, commercial development and success. Under my leadership, my team of editors and deputy editors achieved record-breaking customer satisfaction scores and a record number of industry awards. I also led the development of digital content and services for lifestyle subscribers, and created the organisation's first data journalism strategy, hiring its first data journalists. In addition, I commissioned personal finance investigations for Which? magazine and Which.co.uk, many of which had widespread media coverage.

Editor-in-chief of lifestyle content

Responsible for developing new digital content around complex consumer decisions such as the right mortgage, and turning your pension pot into an income. My team used user research and behavioural insights to optimise our content in these areas. Our content on pensions and on moving home achieved traffic growth of 120% and 36% respectively year-on-year during 2015, and I oversaw the creation of highly successful commercial journeys for both.

I managed the editors of Which? Money and Which? Travel magazines, and oversaw the relaunch of both titles. Which? Money relaunched in October 2014 and subscriptions increased year-on-year by 25%. Which? Travel relaunched in the July 2015 issue.

Head of strategy for life decisions

Led the team of content strategists and commissioning editors across print and online,  covering cars, technology, money and home-related subjects (such as shopping, utilities and baby products). Drove an increase in member acquisition and retention through analysing insight and data, then experimenting and sharing results.

I commissioned and edited investigations, advice and product review content for Which? magazine and Which.co.uk. My areas were home appliances, energy, retail and baby products.  I oversaw the creation of a baby products vertical on our site, and instigated our tests and reviews of steam cleaners, which quickly became the most commercially successful review across all areas.
