I founded my business in 2018 as a resilience specialist, confidence and leadership coach, international speaker, and author, accredited with the International Coaching Federation. 

Through my business Release Your Potential Ltd,I am on a mission to remove toxicity in the workplace, particularly the boardroom. This though my SOAR™️ coaching programme   supporting directors to thrive in business and life by restoring their confident resilient leadership as they align with their truest self, so toxicity is no longer tolerated.  

I design and deliver Masterclasses, keynotes, transformational 121 and group coaching programmes globally online and face to face.

I was awarded ‘Leadership Coach of the Year 2022/3’ for Worcestershire, ‘Sustainability You Business of the Year 2022’ for my impact on the community, and finalist ‘Business of the Year 2022’ in North Worcestershire Business Awards.

Deployed worldwide as a nurse, midwife, senior lecturer and researcher including Afghanistan, Pakistan and The Balkans, and worked in 18 countries in extreme environments.

Passionate to give others a voice from vulnerable patients, women having children and then military families through my PhD research. Fought for nurses to be funded to study at PhD level and left a legacy of a nurse funded annually. 

Final post was as Senior Lecturer and Researcher in Nursing and Ethics where I helped set up a new academic department
where I focused on research in psychological well-being and resilience, speaking and teaching globally. I was also Chair of Nursing and Paramedics for the International Committee of Military Medicine supporting empowerment of military nurses globally. 

I was awarded Principal Fellow of Higher Education (HE) in 2017 for my contribution to HE globally.

Yesterday morning I had the privilege of speaking at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce  at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

And what a room it was.

Great meeting so many….

Sharing practical tools and techniques that we can put in place straight away to enhance or resilience and our confidence.

Wellbeing is about creating the conditions where can perform well and stay well.

When we get wellbeing right, performance follows.

We are in very turbulent times of uncertainty right now.
What if courage is not what you think it is?

Political tension, division in a world that feels less stable and peace more fragile.

While I do not normally watch the news, this has felt different.

One of my happiest postings was to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus.

I have experienced deploying to conflict zones, seeing drones flying over and waiting for the noise of the thud of ammunition, the sounds of the helicopters bringing in casualities in the depth of the night when attempting to get some sleep.

Even if we are not on the front line.....

Our nervous system knows something is happening.

We often think courage means risking your life.

What is it means showing up as we are......
When there is no guarantee of the outcome?

Curious how you notice when your boundaries slip…


Sometimes boundaries don’t disappear overnight.

Often….

They slip quietly.

They get tested.

 - By deadlines.
 - By expectations.
 - By not wanting to disappoint

Boundaries aren’t about pushing people away.

They’re about caring for your energy.
Managing your non-negotiables.

Sometimes we remember this easily.

Sometimes we need a little reminder.

You may notice it in your energy, your time, or that feeling of being stretched a little too far.

Yet…..

From my experience
Those that aspire to being ‘courageous’ already are.

They are already the inspiring leader that they aspire to be.

I find it so sad that….

They don’t acknowledge themselves for the courage they show on a daily basis….

Especially when it feels tough to feel resilient.

The great news is that after a few conversations they start to acknowledge who they truly are. 

They ditch the armour
They stop questioning their ability 
They show up as
Confident, resilient
No longer fearing arrogance
Feeling empowered.

It’s a joy and a privilege to watch their transformation.

Confession……

I’ve let my boundaries slip recently.

I realise how much it took my full focus.

I was working late, not giving my family the time they deserved. 

Time for a regroup….

Imagine a rugby pitch with no lines.

Chaos.

That is what leadership feels like without boundaries.

Boundaries are not walls.

They are the white lines that say,
“This is okay.”
 “This is not.”
