I was hired on contract to expand Sunstone's operations.

Head of (all) marketing activities for the ISB's Flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management aimed at the Indian Market.

The challenge when I took up this assignment was to increase the number of applications to fulfill the requirement of another campus at Mohali.

Through the relentless efforts of my team, I managed to market ISB to every nook and corner of India conducting (physical) information sessions in more than 25 towns and cities. The result was both fulfilling and enriching. We managed to attract more applications than ever before to the ISB in December 2011.

Another major achievement during this stint was the successful launch and subsequent marketing of the Young Leaders Programme (YLP) of the ISB which pit ISB Vs HBS's 2+2.

In charge of Marketing Activities in India with additional charge of neighbouring markets.

The assignment here was to help ISB maintain a healthy ratio between applicants and admits.

I was assigned the task to harness applications from the 'non Metros' of India and some difficult to reach markets like Nepal. The small budget given to me forced me to experiment with an innovation of Marketing ISB through Video Information Sessions. Although today this is very common, ISB was the first school in India to do it in 2007 through Reliance Web Worlds.

Thanks to the incremental increase in applications from this innovation, ISB for the first time surpassed the 4000 applications mark.


I was rewarded with a Promotion for not only increasing the number of applications to ISB significantly but also improving the quality of application coming for candidates who had been educated in India's premium institutes like the IITs and the NITs.

I was responsible for Marketing ISB's internships in India and abroad at a time when the concept for paying for interns was alien. The experience was like running a consulting firm and helped me learn immensely.

Primarily was retailing soft skills training in a big way. One major achievement during this short stint where I was transitioning from an Academic role to a Corporate assignment was cost cutting drive. I worked on a project to bring down operational cost and was reasonable successful as the expenses came down by 30%.

I engaged classes for the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) degree course and taught subjects as diverse as Marketing and Human Resources. I also helped the course-coordinator in the over all administration of the BMS program. It was almost a Vice-Principal’s profile. Before I left Bombay I was also a much sought after visiting faculty at various colleges. I specialize in teaching subjects such as Rural Marketing and Entrepreneurship.

I started my teaching career after my MBA as a Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) course at the Tolani College of Commerce. 

My first batch of 44 students were in the top 100 at the University of Bombay out of 1400 to 1500 candidates.

Bridge to BMS

Besides being a course coordinator at Tolani, I also developed and executed almost single handedly a course called the Bridge to BMS which was a ‘BMS entrance’ preparatory course. 

The Bridge to BMS found many takers and was a super-hit in terms of the number of recruitments. 500 odd students took up the Bridge to BMS out of the 1400 odd that appeared for the Entrance Exam that year. This was at a time when convincing students to join the BMS itself was considered difficult.
