I am an engineer with a passion for aero-thermal applications. For more than 10 years I've been using CFD and in-house tools to deliver solutions in R&D projects. I am inherently passionate about innovation, spending even my spare time for continuous learning and research. I've spent the early stage of my career as a Ph.D. (3 years) and PostDoc (4 years), having the opportunity to work on several EU-funded research projects in the aeronautics field, supporting the implementation of cutting-edge technologies in innovative products. Performing CFD simulations and developing design tools, I acquired knowledge of combustion, heat transfer and cooling in gas turbine hot gas path components. My role included also the support for experimental campaigns carried out by the research group in the context of other European and national-funded projects, as well as R&D activities with industrial partners such as Avio Aero, Ansaldo Energia and Baker Hughes (former GE Oil & Gas). Now I work in Ergon Research, a consulting company born as a spin-off of the University of Florence to transfer technology to the industry. Here I work as a CFD Consultant for fluid, heat transfer, combustion and thermal management applications, delivering unique and innovative solutions to companies that need to improve their products. I have continued my involvement in several EU R&D projects through different funding schemes (Clean Sky 2, Clean Aviation, Horizon Europe and European Defense Fund). In the last few years, I have scouted opportunities and written proposals that have generated more than 1 M€ of funding. Since 2019 I have been a member of the ASME International Gas Turbine Institute heat transfer committee., volunteering also as Session Organizer, Associate Editor of the Journal of Turbomachinery, Chair of the Glocal Gas Turbine News and Rohsenow award.
