Mattioli Woods plc

Responsible for People Systems strategy, management and development, including keeping up to date with planned feature releases, and assessing fit against strategic priorities. 

Primary system is Workday, live with HCM, Absence Management and Payroll for UK since 2018. Deployed Talent & Performance in 2020, Recruiting in 21/22 and deploying Advanced Compensation in 2022 H2.

Also responsible for the oversight, third-party relationships, administration and development of the company's Learner Management System (Financial Assess plus, bespoke standalone tenant), and employee Share Plan systems: Signal Hub (Link) and Equity Gateway (Global Shares).

Other responsibilities include:
- HR Advice to Remuneration and Nominations Board Committees, including preparation of board papers
- Remuneration code compliance advice to remuneration committee
- development and maintenance of Senior Management & Certification Regime systems and controls
- supporting development of our training and competence annual training plans

People Systems & Process

Responsible for delivering the people strategy for the group, development of the people function and capability, and reporting to the Chief Business Officer.  A key objective of the role was to select and implement a new business system; phase one of which was focussed on integrating the current people and payroll software platforms to achieve greater operational efficiency and manage risks.

Key achievements included:

	• Planning and implementation of Workday (HCM, Absence and Payroll UK) across the group, on time and within budget
	• Alignment of Holiday Years across group
	• Hive up of employment contracts for an acquisition and integration support for two newly acquired businesses
	• 97% completion of new performance ratings across group
	• Roll out of annual fit and proper background checks for approved persons, ahead of Senior Managers & Certification Regime (to be introduced 2019)
	• Selection of SaaS partner for Online Share Administration
	• Preparation for transition of 400 staff to new office location

People Director

Partnering with the Client Relationship Management area of the business (c.220 employees) to support normal people processes, as well as taking a lead on a number of Learning and Organisational Development projects

Key deliverables included:
	• Successful support of CRM team restructure
	• Design of bespoke Leadership Development Programme
	• Implementation of Personality Profiling to support Recruitment and Talent Development activity
	• Introduction of salary reviews by performance
	• Alignment of Christmas bonus arrangements, in line with fair, fun and rewarding values
	• Design and implementation of payroll change control processes, reporting and audit preparedness
	• Successful integration of employment terms for two acquisitions
	• Review and update of all employment related forms, movement to digital process and creation of People Intranet pages
	• Design and roll out of new workforce planning documentation to support budgeting process

Senior People Business Partner

Brush Group

•	Using my HR background and associated people skills to coach the Operational Management team 
•	Support the creation of an Operations Strategy that aligns to  individual performance objectives
•	Responsible for coordinating  and prioritising Capital expenditure  submissions (with business case) 
•	Responsible for designing, implementing and training managers on new OEE monitoring process
•	Designing and implementing a range of board level reports with appropriate Key Performance Indicators and actions
•	Contributed to Continuous Improvement Projects resulting in £70k internal (soft) savings
•	Design of automated budget tracking and reporting tool for budget holders which resulted in a 7% saving YTD by April (against year-end target of 10%) through better control of costs
•	Developed Organisational Agility plan to maximise use of skills flexibility through multiskilling, flexible working and banked hours tools

Operations Project Coordinator

•	Implemented an externally accredited  Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) development Programme incorporating three levels for progressing talent;  Leadership Essentials, Leadership Excellence and Leadership Edge.
•	Designed, developed, implemented and managed an e-learning platform for employees and customers (chargeable) specifically focussed on BRUSH Product Knowledge
•	HR Business Partner to 12 managers, covering 275 employees across Production, Quality and IT functions to deliver support and advice on employee matters such as resourcing, talent planning, organisation development, and learning and development.
•	Responsible for the improvement of the Graduate and Apprentice Programmes which were extended to include work-based projects, Departmental Objectives, Functional Rotations, Mentoring, Princes Trust and Personal Development (including an overseas placement for Graduates)
•	Produced a full Learning & Development Directory to identify training courses and pathways for consistent talent development across the organisation
•	Design and implementation of Succession & Talent Planning (Behaviours and Performance)

HR Business Partner

•	Delivering internal training programmes on people management to all employees
•	Responsible for delivery of apprentice programme for 80 apprentices over 5 intake years
•	Designed and delivered innovative on- boarding process including improved Inductions
•	Reduction of apprentice absence levels from 7% down to 2% within first 6 months 
•	Coordination of all internal / customer training in the company’s Learning Centre and Academy
•	Identified key skills gaps for Succession Planning and acquisition of future

HR & Learning/Development Coordinator

•	Providing key HR advice and support for all Employees, Manager and Directors
•	Accurate planning and delivery of 4 redundancy programmes and TUPE transfers 
•	Collective and individual consultations to support the above with outplacement
•	Handling of highly sensitive, complex, disciplinary and grievance cases at all levels of the business
•	General administration of Employment Contracts, Time and Attendance Reporting, Management Reports and accurate organisation of Personnel Files.

Human Resources Administrator

Plant Welding & Engineering Ltd

•	Responsible for procurement budget for purchasing Engineering materials and services 
•	Coordination of items periphery to site installation activities including Equipment Hire and accommodation.
•	General administration of Employment Contracts, Time Cards, Invoices, Payroll, Business Insurance
•	Responsible for maintaining relevant quality, safety documentation and equipment registers and arranging planned maintenance to be carried out
•	Arranging staff training arising from compliance requirements
•	Preparation of relevant tendering documents and supplier compliance questionnaires, issuing drawings to suppliers and customers for supply and approval
•	Implementation of new company ERP system and migration from manual paper based system within 1 month and to budget, including arranging staff training
•	Implementation and installation and maintenance of a new telephone exchange, company server and additional networking points
•	Upgrade and modernisation of all company IT systems
